Biowares stop being so greedy. It bad enough we will buy your ****** poor DLC add ons. Which I have to say it. Are always super buggy and tend to be bad. Like 1 out of every 5 you make are accully worth the money for them. Worse is only one or two of them actully gives you something useful. So stop with the dropping of the counter. You have been beat. You also stink of making websites if someone can just exploit the sit.

It seems like ever day I hate biowares a bit more. You really pissing off your fans with these stunts.

As a gamer i have to say bioware is one of the most loyal devs out there look at zipper they sold out BIG time and look at other game companys that have changed there entire game without keeping a single thing core to the series that they own simply to milk the name. bioware is great they keep true to their games and in todays industy thats rare. dlc is optional you dont have to get it btw

  damn

you had to use math, you couldnt just let us have dreams. you had to crush it with your facts. ahwell i was planning on selling all my bonus loot neway

That's not to say we're doomed. We still have a chance.

Exactly. Unless the current number listed is wrong (I just got back from work) we still have a decent chance. Its friday afternoon, and we still have the weekend to get about 200,000 more downloads.

Isn't it unfair to the customers who downloaded the game legit to have their vote thrown out the window just because a bunch of ignorant gamers wanted to cheat?!? I mean it's like every couple of days or even everyday we get "well we have to reset the counter." WTF!!!

I highly doubt they're discounting the legitimate downloads and logins.  Most likely they're detecting excessive (dozens or hundreds or even thousands) logins in a very short amount of time from the same IP address or location and removing those.

And again, they're probably using some other, more sophisticated way to count the actual tally of downloads and logins, and using that to update the simple counter on the site that people are using at the 'end all be all results', and trying to hack.

Probably more complicated than that, but I don't personally know what goes on in their company, just like someone sitting down to dinner in a nice restaurant doesn't realize exactly how much work goes into making one plate of food.  You have:  Stewerds washing the dishes, production cooks preping the mis en place,  fry station making your appetizer, sauté fixing your vegetables, grill cooking your steak, garde manger making your salad, saucier making your sauces, pastry making your dessert, expo making sure everything comes together at the right time, server bringing your food to the table.

Very few things are as simple as it looks from the outside.

Is the current number of 790,000 correct? Is has it been "tampered" with?

Seems to be right. They recently had to roll it back from about 1.2m and it's been climbing at a steady, but not excessive rate since then.

Thanks Zepheera for opening my mind to that fact. I just can't believe that these "cheaters" think that if they jump the counter up to over 1 million that Bio would release the content. Everything is monitored and especially by the blogger (who I don't recall his screen name) found that it was increasing by 2000 every ten or fifteen minutes.

I'm pretty sure that Bioware has access to EA or EA's servers, and can get the actual number of EA linked account sign-ins that way, as the counter simply tracks how many times the "Download" link has been clicked, per a much earlier comment. So when they "correct" the total on the Demo page, they're probably manually adding in totals from mirror sites, Live and PSN, as those downloads would all have to access an EA account to add to the total anyway. So really, it doesn't matter how you get the demo, so long as you login when you get it. It's really not that hard for them to do, when you think about it. They just adjust the counter to match the actual number they have.

You are what I like to call a "moron". How exactly is Bioware
greedy? They are handing out free stuff for the game all the time... Yes
it might be a lure to get you buy the game but it’s called good marketing... I feel
like I got a definite bargain when I pre-ordered the signature edition of
Dragon Age 2 for £25...

Bioware have yet to let me down... Every game of theirs that I have
played has been nothing short of awesome.

The reason they drop the counter is so that the counter is accurate... It’s
either happening due to people using download managers which download the file
in several chunks which cause it to think there’s multiple downloads or its the
fact that people are logging in with different EA accounts and it is
counting every EA account that logs in.

Either way it’s not easily rectified. So STFU and deal with it because I can
see that you have already bout quite a few of their games so you must somewhat
like what they’re making.

:wizard:

You know I do not give a care what you think. To me I was not satifide with Mass Effect 2. To short one thing. Combat was to easy even on the hardest setting. The story plot was about you being an epic baby sister. Which the did redeam their selfs on that by letting you kill off the crew, Second my iq is vasty higher then yours. So I know I not a moran.
You know why they only charge your 25 pounds. Cause the US copies are like 80 dollars. All because they are forcing you to by a collectors edtion. That right you can not get the regular edition tell april.

Here there thing. They need to prove it wrong. I want to see many duplcate ip address. I want to see scrippet codes. I want to see evidince that what they say is true. After all they are owned by EA. Which if you been living anywhere beside a cave. EA has a track record of making a bunch of greedy choses. The DLC only came out when Microsoft started to get greedy and made the xbox.

Yes ok I get it games will never be as epic as they once where. Gamers do not give a **** about epic. They want flashy graphics and rage dolls. They do not give a care of a game being epiclly buggy or ok quilty.

You kids now adays. Worshiping bad games and giving games that where only a c+ rating a a++ rating. Would not know a good game even to save your life.

Yes those days of the epic 500 hours super story crappy graphics are gone. I get it so to make the baby happy I will shut up.

Stupid kid.

Lol Loyality. Yeah I remember how much Microsoft was raging when Biowares decided to make Mass Effect 2 for the PS3. That Mass Effect 3 will be for all the big system.
Might I point out how Mass Effect 1 was at first an exclusive for the xbox?
Theit loyality is in what can make them the most money. They are like dogs willing to do anything for a scrap of meat.

Their game quility has slowly gone down. Which shows us where their loyality is at. Sure I am old gamer. Been playing sence Atari was a gaming system.
I get it. The old adult gamers have alot on their plate and do not have time for epic gaming. The young kids do not have the abilty to sit down for more then five mins before they are slamming their heads against a wall.

So people like me that hates the new generation and their pea brains are just stuck having to suffer.

I agree with you Doom on the point that I was sorely dissappointed in ME2. However you looking at Bioware and the rest of the game industry as an altruistic group of people that make games for the sake of making games. They aren't, they are a coroporation. As such their goal is to make Money. I don't have a problem with the whole DLC thing because in the end if they keep making bad games and poor DLC eventually they will lose thier fanbase and fade into oblivion. This doesn't mean that I forgive them for making a half-arsed attempt when they made ME2, but now they know better and hopefully ME3 will prove that they learned their lesson.

With DA2 I am expecting them to deliver an engaging story that while it focuses on one man and his adventures it stays true to the Dragon Age roots and gives us choices in side-quests and teammates. From what I have seen in the demo they are going to do just that.

By the way you really are a moron if you don't think money takes precedence over fanbase.

Let you know. My strong parts in life are Science, math. Something 90% of the world population fails at.  I know my weak points in life are language and social skills. which I can clearly see your one of the 90% that has good Language and social skills. I am sure you suck at math and science. It just the way life is. People tend to always have strength and weakness when it comes down to it.

Well I am just furstated as they have saying something with out back it up. I have no daught that the story is going be good. Sence this story is not going be on the same style as all the others games. The story will be lead by your actions. The different chapters which will react differently as you make chooses will be nice to see how the end game unfolds.

Biowares tend to do great stories. There just been a few misses here and ther.

I not even bothing going fight with people. I just going say agrea to disagrea.

Doom, if I could read your last response I would have a rebutle, but sadly I can't. Learn some basic grammer no matter how smart you are if you don't sound intelligent you come across as an idiot.

So far from what the developers have said this sounds almost exactly like DA:O. The only difference is that instead of all of those frivoulus "go find this guy and kill him" quests there will be more of a story basis for each side quest. Kind of like ME2 where you would have a reason to go to location X because a Cerberus Operative had been captured and you needed to get him back before he gave the Mercs vital info about Cerberus. Sadley he was always dead and there was no way to get to him in time. Would have been nice to have an operative indebted to you.

Its funny to see people cheating to reach the 1,000,000 downloads. Who are these people?! WTH, chill out. It's just 2 in-games books, which to me just seem like Codex pieces. Don't get me wrong, I think what Bioware is trying to do is cool, but MAN!! people can go crazy about nothing! Oh, and I liked the demo, BTW. Peace out, Bioware junkies!!
