I'm just hoping spammers don't screw with it anymore.

I hope so too. I'm sure some think that they are helping, but they are just making the wait even more agonizing.

Sorry, did I miss something?  How did spammers screw up the count?

People who want the count to move to the limit faster have been messing with the demo and raising the count. Bioware had to step in and fix it for a while.

Almost at 794,000...I think its pretty likely they'll hit the million mark by the end of this weekend. After all, as it stands now, on average about 200,000 people per day have been downloading the demo...I'd expect those numbers might be higher on the weekend when most people are off from work and have free time to kill. So with barely over 200,000 downloads to go, I think we're in good shape, especially since the challenge isn't up until March 1, next Tuesday.  I'd actually be surprised if we fell short.

Its funny to see people cheating to reach the 1,000,000 downloads. Who are these people?! WTH, chill out. It's just 2 in-games books, which to me just seem like Codex pieces. Don't get me wrong, I think what Bioware is trying to do is cool, but MAN!! people can go crazy about nothing! Oh, and I liked the demo, BTW. Peace out, Bioware junkies!!

LOL, yes! And if anything, I probably won't use the experience one anyway. People might remember that mobs scale with character level, so you're not really making things any easier if you get some bonus XP. It's even worse: the stuff vendors sell is a function of your character level as well, so you'll have to buy more expensive stuff because of your level.

Which is why one of the other books gives you money. lol

I'm actually looking forward to the codex entries as well, esp. the poems about the destruction of Lothering.

And there we have it; 800,000.

We'll need another 43 downloads every minute, roughly, to get the required 200,000 more by the end of Monday night.

Only because I didn't realize this for a while and when I found out I felt like an idiot:

http://dragonage.bio....com/info/demo/

It's at the top of the page to the right next to Hawke. Make sure you don't have any scripts disabled on that page.

No we didn't get to a million, the spammers did. It's not BioWare trying to screw us, it's the spammers fault for getting our hopes up with incorrect numbers. Why should BioWare reward cheating? Those of us who are playing fair want it badly, yes, but thinking we deserve it simply because the cheaters inflated the count doesn't make sense. That would make us cheaters too.

I want the rewards, just like anyone else, but I want them because us players met the challenge that was given to us, not because a 'few' people tried to pull one over on the company.

After 4 days we are legitimately a bit over 80% of the way to the goal, with three days, including a weekend, ahead of us.  I'd say we have a good shot at getting the prize, without having to resort to trying to find underhanded ways of getting it.

We aren't finding underhanded ways of getting it... we have already downloaded it... we are just waiting to see if 1 million downloads happen so we get get snacks. There are a couple other people out there spamming things, but that has nothing to do with us. I think we will probably make it considering it's the weekend... however... you would think friday nights would be pretty busy. But most people are out parting, watching movies, getting drunk at the bar.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but I'm afraid I don't have the inclination to spend the next couple hours reading through the 55 pages of this thread to see if it has been. I was wondering if anyone knew whether someone like me, who downloaded it on my PC, 360, and PS3, then played it on each while signed in to my single EA account would count once, or three times towards the mark?

I don't mind being counted only once--I didn't do it to inflate the number, but to compare it across systems (and sample each class)--I was just wondering.

Im pretty sure each time you download it the javascript will count it towards the counter, so that would be 2 extra downloads, so preferably just pick up one ::S

I'm not saying that we (the honest gamers) would try anything underhanded, my point is, that we should be able to reach the goal WITHOUT the 'help' of those that are trying to circumvent the system.  I've seen a lot of posts recently saying "Well, the counter SAID 1m, so we should get the prize even though it was an inflated number.**"  That's not how it's done, and that's not how we should want it done.

** NOTE: Paraphrasing

already in! I'm ready to play! Now if all this goes through is it something that will automatically be downloadable when we get the game? I've also got a staff, belt, and Hayder's Razor listed but do I get codes or are they also downloadable when we get the game?THX
