Question, if Bioware is concerned with accuracy of downloads, why don't they just see how many accounts have qualified for the Razor since anyone who has thusly qualified has obviously beaten the demo?

The counter have started to slow down? I fear there are a chance that the counter not will reach 1 mil before march 1.

It may be slowing down, but usually there's a spike in the last day or few hours, so slim as it may be, we aren't down for the count just yet!

I'm confused.  Are you saying there is an already existing Dr. Pepper promotion for Dragon Age II these items should be added to, or are you saying they should make one to release these items as an alternative (in case the 1,000,000 mark isn't reached) like was done with Mass Effect 2 for the Recon Hood, Umbra Visor, etc?

Well, I'm one of those people who is VERY interested in all things Dragon Age but haven't had the chance to download it or play it yet (working 6 days a week and commuting two hours per day makes me want to be lazy when I'm home). I'll be downloading it tomorrow (even if it means signing up for a Gold Xbox Live account), so at least thats +1.



Hopefully there are another 175,000 people like me in the world...

The way I see it there will most likely be a huge surge in downloads on Tuesday of those people with silver accounts. March 1st is the deadline but that also makes it the last day to add downloads to the counter. Most  people, and by most I mean almost everyone, talks like the counter will be taken down the morning of March 1st, but in all likelyhood it won't be over until 11:59 on March 1st. So even if by Monday we are close but not there yet the silver surge on Tuesday could seal the deal.

They should end it by that time I think, otherwise lots of people won't even of had a week to download it, and Silver members that don't/can't create another Gold account will have absolutely no chance at downloading it. I don't think it would be fair otherwise.

It says on the website though "before March 1st", sooo... yeah

Remember, there's going to be a spike in silver accounts DL'ing on the first seeing as how the 1st is the "deadline" meaning, as someone else pointed out before, we have until 11:59pm SBT (Thats Standard BioWare Time) March 1st to reach the appointed goal.

Key information here. This means that the counter does not update from all sources in realtime. In fact, Fernando seems to imply here that the only source that does update the counter in realtime are direct downloads from Bioware. So the rate at which it increases is inaccurate. I'd say the rate of increase is a minimum, but, that wouldn't account for people spamming the counter. It does seem like the spamming has eased off now though.

As an alternative, wasn't any DA2 promotions last time I checked.
