February 22, 2011 marks the launch of the Dragon Age II Demo and a Call
to Arms for all BioWare fans. We are actively recruiting an army of
Champions, and if we get over 1 million demo downloads and logins on the
PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 combined before March 1st,


We have 2 days.

Well, the count as of now is: 837668.

We have a fair bit to go.

At least these books are usefull, some DLCs i've seen are only reskins if that.

What error do you get? Many people get an error about the d3dx9_43.dll file missiong - even on a fully up-to-date Windows 7 installation (according to Windows Update). Looks like the Windows Update does not serve the latest DirectX 9 updates. For me the problem was easily solveable by installing the most recent version of DirectX 9 from the Microsoft homepage.

i think its over for us. unless bioware decides to alter the numbers again this time adding im certain its impossible at this point.

Like me. That and the fact you need an EA account. I bet there are many people who will buy DAII and download the demo but never heard of it previously. Therefore, they won't make an EA account until they find out they need to in order to access the DLC that comes free with it.

Well the TV trailer debuts tonight during Family Guy. A lot of people watch that so maybe that will help? It's hard to say at this point.

I hadn't thought about that.

There exists the possibility that many DA fans/owners simply do not know about the demo for one reason or another.

After all, i never knew about some of the ME2 DLC until i visited the Mass Effect Wiki to solve a problem with Pinnacle Station for ME1.

I don't get it, everyone is all *poo* *poo* about the tomes, how do you expect BioWare or EA or whoever to care what we think if you just throw the stuff they are giving back in their faces?

Hey, a lot of folks had this problem.  They were able to fix it by going to microsoft's site and updating their directX 9 to 9.0c.

I have run the demo wothout any problem in 1900x1080 very high graphical setting under vista

Edit: Using dx9.c... a bith slugish in parts using dx11

We would have easily hit 1 million with the X-Box Silvers. In my eyes this is a miscalculation that should get us the books anyway. However, i'm just irritated by the spammers, the Silver/Gold membership thing, and the fact that it's 2 codex entires and a bit of gold/xp so... i'm not bothered anymore.

It is still pretty impressive that we've reached 840000 DLs of the demo since this started though.

Yep books and cookies sounds like a great idea hehe. I guess we will all just need to wait though and see what they decided, and what the final count is and all.
