That's the point! Even if we won't reach the million, the number of DL is very high and we've really done our best!
I hope that BW will make us a surprise and release the items anyway...

In the last 24 hours the counter has gone up by 35,000 downloads. It is now at 847306 (at this moment). with 40 hours before the deadline. Because February ends on the 28th not the 31st. So you guys have 40 hours to tell every person you know to download it. Otherwise it wont break 930,000 by March 1st.
I am not pessimistic, but the odds to get to 1 million are looking bleak... I hope I am proven wrong.

Something else I'd like answered: Why was the spot that will air in todays episode of Family Guy not aired last week?! I mean, so that people would have actually known about the demo before (!) the Call To Arms promotion began. Now it airs 1 day (or 2 days, if Bioware doesn't take "BEFORE March the 1-st" to seriously) before the promotion ends on a sunday evening, when people have to go to work/school on the next day. I will never understand people working in marketing...

Despite the final results of demo downloading marathon, the best decision for Bioware will be to gift us this books. I think they don't erase this content or try to sell it to us for ms points

I agree.  I thought it would be easy when it was still 50,000-70,000 downloads a day easy, but in the last 2 days its dropped down to 20,000-30,000 more or less a day.  I think just about everyone who's going to download the thing has downloaded it, unless there's a last minute push from a new wave of demo players come monday.  I wouldn't count on Xbox silver members though since it's pretty clear Call To Arms ends before March 1st.

We will probably get the two books regardless of what happens either now or later as some sort of mini/free DLC giveaway, so i'm not too worried.  Not that I would care if we didn't get them either though.

Also, considering the 300k they removed... I swear that was just a dick move, (No hate to Bioware, still love them till I die ) people could not have spam downloaded it so that an extra 300k was added... 100k maybe but 300k... :S

yeah sorry I'd only just woken up, should have been 150 1/2k not 15 1/2 k
still not hit the 850k mark yet, only gone up around 7k since I saw it earlier, needs to go up quite a bit faster if we're to hit the 1mill mark by tuesday.

It wasn't believe me.  The whole point for Bioware is marketing and bragging rights which leads to better marketing.  They want to be able to say something like: "We had over 1 million people in just one week download the demo, which proves DA2 is the most anticipated awsomeness game of 2011."   They want Call to Arms to reach 1 million more than anyone and they would have been jumping up and down if it went well over.

They turned back the downloads I think because it was partially the right thing to do and it would suck if someone found out that the Call to Arms promotion was cheated after saying something similar to the above.

only counts as 1 on their dl meter, one ea/bioware account = 1 dl regardless of how many platforms(pc, ps3, xbox360) you dl it on or how many times you dl for. only way to get it to count more than once would be to set up another ea account and play through the demo while signed into that account, if everyone(or at least a large majority) who's downloaded it thus far had done that we'd already been past the 1mill mark.

I've played it through on the pc and the ps3 but would only count once as I used the same account both times, have the razor down for the pc and ps3 but I've got the game pre-ordered only for the pc thus far(may get the ue when it comes out on the ps3).

I was thinking that it would be better to just have them gift us the 2 tomes because of our effort and I still think that would be great but I have another idea.

I know they just want to say that they had 1 million demo downloads in a week but imo this obviously isn't going to be the case(at least not legitimately). So why not extend the promotion for a period of time then the silver live members will and the people who find out about it tonight through the trailer will be able to download it. I'd expect to see an influx of at least a 100 k in the first 24 hours of the overtime.

It's better than just giving up on the entire promotion and just making available for dl for $ later imo.

Before this whole thing started though I thought the tomesweren't such a great reward tbh imo it should have just been a reward for dling the demo or should have been in addition to hayder's raor for completing it or with each subsequent play through of the demo you consecutively unlock the 3 items.

Well w/e happens i know that I'm getting my cookies.

Yeah they aren't important  but I was looking forward to the codex entries and extra gold and exp is always welcomed.

Plus the hype of the promotion made them seem better to me.

If they were just DLC on live I'd probably skip it if it wasn't free.

We want them because Bioware wants to give them to us? You're right they're not important, but do you usually turn away free stuff when you could use it?
