really enjoyed the demo. DL it on the Xbox 360 and beat it several times. For some reason I did not get Haydor's Razor. I got the staff thing. I know I am getting a butt load of extras because I got the Signature Edition of the game well before my bday of Jan 11. Still, wouldn't mind unlocking the Razor.
Thoughts on the game: This is a big year for RPG fans. Bioware is coming out of the gates swinging with 3 major titles: Dragon Age II, Mass Effect 3, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. However, RPG fans are also getting the likes of Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Dark Souls, The Witcher 2, Kingdom of Amalur Reckoning, and possibly Diablo 3. And I hope this doesn't ignite some weird, goofy fanboy war. I plan on playing all of them. Story for me is key.
The first thing that popped out at me in the demo is the art style. I like it. Its different. It helps it to stand out from all of the other super realistic RPGs that will be on the market shortly. Much in the same way Borderlines used its unique art style to its advantage, I think it should bode well for DAII.
The combat felt far more fluid and enjoyable than DAO. It was just a blast to play each and every class. Especially enjoyed the archer which is something rare for me. I typically stick with mages and warriors. From the taste I got from the demo, I will be playing this game through multiple times as a rogue like ninja, an archer, a spartan like sword and shield guy on top of my usual love for mages and big sword warrior.
Questions remain, though. Story. Character interaction. Choices. How will it all flow? Will the main plot not only suck me in like it did in Origins, but will it be deeper and improved? Do I get to interact with my party members much like I did in Origins? Or will it be scaled back like it was in Awakening?
DAII has lots of potential and I am hopeful that Bioware can pull off another masterpiece. We shall see come March 8.
