Also I have yet to find a MMO I've liked.

Borderlands. Bought the GOTY edition for the Duke Nukem: Forever demo pass, but the actual game... ugh.
The shooting is poor, most of the millions of guns are useless, and there's very little charm in what characters there are. Also, I had to put the difficulty down to easy just to get through some very early segments because it is absolutely CRITICAL that you level up before doing anything or your guns are useless and inaccurate and everyone kills you in two hits. I can't count the number of times I was killed by a regular bandit standing on a platform 100m away with a subachine gun that has pathetic stats when picked up.
I wanted so much to love it so much but sadly I wasn't impressed. Still, I will finish it, some day...
You know I hated the game too... then I went online and the game got fun for me. If your trying to do anything in this game solo than it will be a painful chore from hell but add a few players and I can't quit it.

That's Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
And too many 2 year olds? That doesn't make any sense.
Also kids in CoD 4 are pretty much rare thing.

I expect you're right. Still, I just got Dead Space 2, Battlefield 2 and Black Ops so I'll come back to Borderlands later with a fresh outlook. It did get better when I was around level 20 though, so who knows? Maybe I'll enjoy it more this time.
Oh wait, I just remembered Mothrakk.

In the old Mario Bros games you'd simply complete the level and than move on to a new stage that was relatively different.Capt. Obvious wrote...

With Mario 64 you'd do 5-6 boring 'missions' on the same stage than move onto another stage to do essentially the same 5-6 boring missions.
The puzzles were simple, the combat was essentially just punching and jumping and the plot was non-existent (which I guess one could expect from a Mario game of that time but when it's such a large game I'd hoped for more then just "Want some Cake? Save me from the turtles!")
I really don't see why this game was seen as so great, Donkey Kong 64 was better.

Hints to make the game easier. Explosive shotguns with high critical hits for bosses. Crossive pistol and fire pistol for all other enemies. Transfusion gernade for all enemies does not matter what the 4th gun is. Alien/Electric weapons only on the Alien guys. Pistols are the number one weapon in the game. The final boss is very weak against them. I've played the game on 2nd story mode too. I usually kill the regular enemies in one to 2 hits.

Exaguration. Do you enjoy a little **** that hasn't hit puberty swearing profously because you ended his killstreak? I don't. It makes the game suck. And I heard that nearly every game I played.
Also, it is indeed Call of Duty 4 2. Modern Warfare was Call of Duty 4. Hence the sequel to it, Frak Ops, is Call of Duty 4 2.

From the screenshots I've seen of Skyrim, the NPCs look stunning. After reading that article in GI, I'm more excited than ever.

At first I thought it was amazing, the graphics and 3d gameplay were indeed revolutionary for it's time but the objective for every level was essentially the same, find a star. I can only find a star so many times before it starts to get boring and some of the locations for the hidden stars were incredibly stupid, anyone remember that star that was hidden in the side of the bricks that you had to launch yourself into a cannon to reveal?
Mario 64 is an important game historically but I see it more as the kind of game that influenced greater games to come and not as a great game itself.

Anyway, I don't know if this is a game the "everyone loves" but I haven't heard anything negative about it so.. DCU Online. I seem to recalling playing this game 5 years ago, only then it was called City of Heroes.
Natch.

Beware tvtropes. It will ruin your life.
Also, looking back, I agree that I got bored of Super Mario 64 when I was young. In fact, one of my favorite Mario games was Super Mario Sunshine and apparently Mario fans hate it.

COD seriously, I HATE that game series. Its all anyone and everyone at school talks about, I'm like ... How about you go and play GOOD games that involve actual skill and not you just sitting at your xbox for 12 hours straight until you get to a good enough level that you don't get butt raped as soon as you go into a game.

Final Fantasy XIII - I don't enjoy being trapped in a pipe no matter how pretty

It's starting to seem that more people hate COD than like it nowadays
COD is actually a game I kind of like in short bursts. The online community can be terrible and there are far superior games out there, but its just a simple FPS. I got Black Ops at a much reduced price recently and I actually thought the story was decent and it was pretty fun (not that I can actually access multiplayer right now). It's just a FPS but its polished to a mirror sheen over the course of several - admittedly samey - games.
Sometimes I just want to shoot some people. Is that so wrong?

Modern Warfare 2 - God I hate that game and it also ruined big respect for whole franchise, ALONE. Also it ruined CoD 4 MW plot, even worse then Star Wars prequels to original trilogy, so many continuity errors, potholes and US jingoism made me puke.
Splinter Cell Conviction - generic shooter with generic characters with generic plot with generic villains with bad take cover control with retarded AI, unrealistic stealth elements from franchise that is know to be only about stealth.
Agreed.
