I think a DudeShep/FemShep reversible ME3 cover would be the most practical solution, to be honest.

Just do it like Red alert 3 did.

On one side you got soviet themed box art. Then if you switch side, BAM! Allied themed box art.

Just replace soviet and allies with Maleshep and Femshep.

Print male shep on the one side of the paper for the cover, femshep on the other. Then the player can choose by swapping it if he/she wants.

Embarrassingly, I owned that game for months before I ever figured that out

It'd be great if they gave us a flipcover. Heck, throw in flipcovers for ME1 and ME2 in the same packaging and we're rocking ;)

Yes this could work, but then again they would say it would be just oo expensive. In the end money says it all...<_<

No. Femshep will never be in a large piece of marketing material, ever.

Would it really be though?

It might only be a drop in the bucket compared to other marketing expenses.

I personally like the generic 'N7' cover, or something similar.  No Shepard at all.

I really doubt FemShep will appear on the box or most promotional material for ME3.

Reversible would be really cool. I recently realised that I could flip the cover of the Kill Bill, Vol 1 Blu-ray from the awful Blu/DVD art

to the really cool poster art

Something like that would be really nice, especially if the cover was like non-CE Mass Effect 2's cover which was so bad that I wonder how it got through marketing.

None of this really effects me, as I'll be getting it through Steam most likely, but still.

Gotta keep that 18% majority happy I guess...

/sarcasm.

Seriously it's like some people just can't understand why default Shepard was created... he's a man. He's a soldier. So what?

I think the cover should have nothing to do with Shepard and the Team. I think that the cover should be scenery's something like that.

Yes it will save trouble, also BioWare chose their character is a male. I think it will be something like that. I think it will be better with no Shep and Team on the cover. I know that people will **** and complain like they usually do. I don't really mind what they do, the cover though should be interesting and amazing. :) That what BioWare and Mass Effect is about in many ways. :)

Actually, I think default Shep is a Vanguard (except for when they're showcasing other classes specifically) because they show him using Charge in a lot of the DLC trailers and things.

I still don't understand why they chose some Dutch model to take the face scan from. I'm not saying they should have taken a constipated-looking developer like they did for Max Payne 1, but there must have been other choices better than Vanderloo.

Front cover? Nah... though I see no reason for keeping femShep outta their promotional material entirely!

Don't see any need to change the marketing stragety whatsoever. Keep it iconic imo.

This ideas dumber than a box of nails

can people not get it through there heads the cannon shep is MALE.

The same shep we have seen in every trailer picture etc from bioware.

There not going to change it.

Impeccable grammar, Saren100.

As much as I love FemShep (and Sheploo gives me the creeps), this idea is kind of sort of meh. What I'd like to see is a cover that doesn't even have Shepard on it, or at least one that doesn't show his stupid face.

Like the Collector's Edition. That was pretty sexy.

I'd rather have neither on the cover, like the me2 collector edition cover.

If they are however, then either have shepard helmeted and in sufficient shadow to make it difficult to distinguish between male and female, or the reversible thing.

Either create a cover akin to the ME2 collector edition (without Sheploo's face), or do a reversible cover, with one side default maleShep and the other side default femShep. There is very little reason to not have that at least. I agree that a holo would be a bit on the tacky side and with a reversible cover, it covers both bases without alienating one side or the other. Considering there is NO "canon" Shep, this just seems like the most sensible solution.

I agree with you Cheez, I like my idea too No Shep and Team, that will make people happy. I know though BioWare and EA will make the choices not us.

Sheploo is DEFAULT Shepard, not canon, there is no canon in the way of Shepard besides he/she stopped Saren and the Collectors.
