I've come across a problem I suspect is related to editing my savegame to alter my appearance - my character's origins are no longer recognised and I get generic dialog instead.

Is there some variable I can switch in the save game editor to force it into recognising my origin, say human noble or city elf?

What editor do you use? I can't use the toolset as for some reason it doesn't work for me, so I'm looking for a savegame editor to get back things that suddenly disappeared for no reason...i.e. my Expensive Staff.
