I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Eleanor Cousland(likley voice actor of momma hawke), No character has ever been more cheesy to me. I want the option to feed her to a cougar, Fuel her blood to merril in order to ressurect my fallen sibling, Or even use her skull as a hat to symbolize adulthood like the pokemon cubone.
Ok maybe all that's going a bit far....But i really don't wanna hear "I LUVZ YA SON, PLEASE BE CAREFUL KILLING DRAGONZ"
Anyone else hate having a mom in a RPG?

Did you play human noble? or Dwarvern Commoner (the far better mother IMO)andar91 wrote...
I liked what I saw of her. I've never had a mother in a game before, and I look forward to seeing how it works out in Dragon Age 2.

Bi sexual romance?The RustMonster wrote...
Seeing as she's DAII's Kelly Chambers, I doubt there'll be a possibility for her to die until pretty late in the game.
This could get weird...............but atleast it's better than human noble.

No, but even if I did those mothers aren't quite the same thing. Leandra Hawke actually lives past the first hour of the game. I've had family in lots of rpg's, but they usually die and my character doesn't seem to care except for a few lines of dialogue they mutter before setting off on a grand adventure. I think DA2 will be a nice change.

the "family dynamic" which Bioware keeps mentioning is what worries me about her overly assertive motherhood.Fenn wrote...
She could be very different from the cousland mom I can see how her haveing the same voice actor makes it hard though.
I know my mom is my mom, i don't need her saying "Omg my pretty son, i love you so much" before i take my trip to the john.

But anyways even before Noble mom knows anything bad will happen to her son she goes off all like" You good son, Don't scrape your knee haha!" and im just like <_<
I prefer my mom a bitter drunk who Says im stupid and inferior then that pushes me to prove her wrong!

What evidence do you have that she will be like this? Also, there's a bathroom in the game? Is it like the one on the Normandy that I didn't find until my third playthrough? My Avatar is a Lizard wrote...

That would be over-the-top and annoying if it was that bad. Luckily, we've seen nothing to suggest that Hawke's mother behaves that way. I imagine she does love you, though. If she says, "I love you, darling," or something once or twice in certain contex is going to drive you crazy, then I guess you're screwed.

It's ok to have affection, but to the extent the couslands had it made me uncomfortable.
