I want Hawke's mother to remain in the game for as long as possible. It's a nice change in an RPG to add an emphasis on family, adds more substance to the story. In DA:O Bryce Cousland was one of my favourites.

I simply want the option,
Not make it a necessity.

This OP if she bothers you so much just ignore her. I doubt you'll be forced to interact with her too much anyway.

K when your mom says nothing else than "I love you darling" iIt can be normal

and If that is normal, i want the option to be weird and kill off hawkes mom early ingame.

Their home is being invaded and the thought of dying is at every corner, is telling your second child(after having your first child march on to war) that you love them every chance you get really that abnormal?

If hearing from your mother one time that she loves you is too much, you're definitely way too sensitive about this.

1/1 times is too much

it's the fact that everthing i heard from that women was OMG I LOVEZ YA or some other cheesebread

Uhh... did you even play that origin? You make it seem like a woman who is watching her eldest son and husband march off to (most likely) their death shouldn't feel the need to take comfort in their son/daughter who is staying behind with her. And after that conversation, they're, uhm... being attacked. And dying.

You see that speck behind you? The one about 20 miles back that you can barely see anymore? Yeah, that's the line you crossed with that comment.

1.Ok, from a writer's perspective I will tell you why she tells you she loves you 1/1 times. In the only forced conversation with the character in the beginning of the game,
2.she says that she loves you. This suggests that the Couslands live a very happy life and they enjoy each other's presence.
To show that they are a "normal" family so to say.
3
. In doing so, the writers hope you the player to realize that your character also loves his/her mother.
4.In her brief time within the game, the writers want you to form a positive relationship with this character whom you're supposed to have known your entire life. How do they do this the best way? By having the character say "I love you."

5.Additionally, presuming this positive connotation to the character has been formed, her murder is supposed to trigger a stronger emotional response with the player.
6.The writers want you to be upset that Howe killed your mother, as apposed to say a servant. This then results with a greater anger against Howe, and a stronger desire to enact revenge against him. All because of the one simple line that Lady Cousland said, "I love you."

1. I understand that, but i still didn't like it and would have liked the option to skip it, i got an accurate portrayl of her character in the invasion. The Pre invasion was just mush.

2.Boring

3.I prefer choice in how my character interacts with others.

4.it was my character and why should i be forced to like or dislike any charater? Companion/Npc interaction is one of the majior draws of dragon age, i want to Rival anyone i disagree/don't care for.

5.I felt little for Momma Noble, She was bland and had no personality up until the last 5 seconds.

6.That one line was probaly not the Writers intent for Motivating the player to hate Howe,
Him taking my estate and killing everyone in it  including the children and me made me for more angry than the loss of the mother i knew for 5 minutes and said nothing.

I liked Eleanor Cousland, and even if I didn't like my mother's voice, I wouldn't kill her for it. Little psychotic today?

I can't speak for the OP, but I don't want "stab her in the face" option as much as I want a (Option A=leads to death eventually) and (Option B= she survives). Family dynamics are cool for a game, and a great way to advance that is to have their lives and deaths influenced by actions we take. Much more dramatic that way. Therefore, I support the ability to possibly "kill" Momma Hawke.

<3 Also, Why are you guys so antagonistic with each other? Let's all be friends! <3

I said these were the effects the writers intended for the players. I simply stated why they included the line and why they wrote the character the way they did. Whether they were succesful or not is entirely up to the player. You're clearly an example of someone who thought they were unsuccessful, but I think it's safe to say that you're in a minority group about that.

And that's why i'd like the option to have her die early on,
More power to the player.

From a story perspective, starting out with a relatively calm and normal beginning makes the exciting parts seem more exciting. Ever hear of "contrast"?

There were definetely more rude options, though I can't remember them right now.
