Godwood, I'm not sure what mass you go to but I'm not sure what you mean by the catholic church is mean? Tell me, how many schools have you opened up in countries where they wanted to burning them down and kill you?

Millions of africans die and will die because they have caught AIDS through unprotected sex. They did not use protection as they were told by the Catholic Church that condoms actually spread AIDS. So, basically, the church ignored evidence and told lies to people who have no way of accessing this information, and this caused these people's deaths.
The church also protected child-raping priests, to avoid scandal. They allowed horrendous abuse to go virtually unpunished, just so they wouldn't get any bad press.
The crusades destroyed entire civilisations, and the church told crusaders that islamic people were less than human. As a result, the knights slaughtered women and children.

I respect your right to believe catholic teachings, but the organisation itself is marred awfully by corruption and evil, and hypocrisy as well, given that most of the teachings you believe has been violated by it. So, out of respect for the many harmed by it, do not call it nice. The chantry is actually quite a soft rendition of the catholic church by comparison.

Yeah, just because the person who made that site doesn't know what a religion is doesn't mean anything.

Athiesm is as much a religion as 'bald' is a hair color.

But bald is a hairstyle even if it doesn't have any hair in it.

In defence of the Crusades, extreme Muslims were actually forcefully converting people. The crusades were made to stop that. Be thankful. It was the later crusades which were bad and they were about land and gold like most wars.

Atheism is a religion. Deal with it.

So? Just because several people are wrong about what a religion is doesn't mean they're less wrong.
A religion requires a core tenant of beliefs. The only thing required to be an athiest is to lack of belief in the divine.

Just because many people are wrong doesn't make it right though.

Religion is also known as faith, and by definition, requires this. Atheism is characterised by a complete lack of faith, and relies upon evidence offered.

NO "real world" religious discussion here. Keep it game related. Thanks.

Does that justify wiping out Islamic civilisation? I'd disagree with the facistic and misogynist Shariah Law enforced in many middle-eastern countries, I do not support nuking them all. Nor would I support complete destruction of Catholicism.
