It definitely takes some getting used to. But that's part of what makes it fun to use, atleast for me. Though fun to use, it felt a bit useless at times. I changed it for neural shock for now. Might change it back later to try the improved version.
Well you can't really talk about Flashbang until you've tried the Improved version. It really is a lot better.
As for learning how to aim it, that was really the fun part for me. It's satisfying to throw it correctly after having blinded yourself accidentally a number of times or just completely missed the target. You don't get that with other powers because they do the work for you.
I remain skeptical of its usefulness of higher difficulty levels though. Since it's a combat power, there's no way to compensate for the lower duration it'll have there. If you're a Mechanic though that might do the trick.
Last but not least. As mentioned above, Flashbang shuts down Harbinger. I have no idea why, it just does, completely. Lasts longer than the duration of Flashbang too.
