It definitely has some technical issues what with the bugs, randomly fugly moments, freezes, data corruption, and serious framerate dips.

Obviously there is time for further optimizations but, so far, 3's engine isn't very impressive in terms of a smooth gameplay experience.

Great game, I finished it but the bugs where a painus in the anus. If I had to do it over again I would bought it used. Bioware stop using customers as beta tester. Fool me once same on you, fool me twice...Not gonna happen.

In a word: yes! I've loved most of BioWare's stuff ever since Baldur's Gate 2, and they haven't disappointed. Loved KOTOR, liked Dragon Age pretty well, and Mass Effect 2 is just terrific. The story is great, the characters are all unique and a lot of fun (and varied), and the gameplay is pretty seamless. This is the most fun I've had playing a game since Arkham Asylum.

A couple things do hold it back.

>Most, if not all the glitches remain from the PC/360

>New bugs like audio being out of sync and the save file corruption

>The comic is a nice retelling, but not full in it's detail

As someone who did play through ME on a friends 360. . . which was put down last month, I have to say, you do miss a bit, but not enough to pass up on the game.

Wait for a month or two, hopefully we'll have patches and fixes out by then.

I agree, the patch needs to be released dang it! But other than that I don't have any probs with it. I think the comic was fine, and just found out you can skip through it to the decision trees, thank God. I think the PS3 version is the definitive one, particularly after the patch gets released.

you might want to wait a bit longer, as this patch has introduced NEW glitches!

Ah too bad, looks like another patch will be needed to fix the new glitches then. I'll just have to wait longer I guess.

After watching reviews and checking various forums it seems that although it sounds like a great package only about 60% are happy with it. What is the state of the game at the moment? Are there any gamebreaking bugs, freezing and slowdown(Dragon Age Reminder...)?

lol oh good, some random person searching forums has listed a thorough survey percentage about the game! whew! what a relief!!

Please do enlighten the rest of us with your bull about how you came to that number? inquisitive minds want to know!

Mass Effect 2 on PS3 has the best package if you want the DLC on the disc already.

The game is great on the PS3 and it's nice to have everything on one disc. I did not encounter the save game bugs that others reported, so either my play style (frequent breaks) avoided them or I got lucky.

Having played ME1&2 on the 360, I found I was missing several 'little touches' like encountering someone I'd 'met' in the first game when I replayed it on the PS3, so if playing the series from the beginning on PC or 360 is an option I'd recommend it. Failing that, enjoy ME2 on the PS3!

ive had the game since it was made available for PS3. Never had an issue with it as far as gameplay or glitches for that matter. I would say Definately worth the buy IMO.

Great game, THE BEST if you ask me, definitely worth every penny.
Make sure you patch the game though, I lost 20+ hours worth of gamplay because that glitch.

I can't finish the game because of constant freezes after I use the omega4 relay. I've only had issues since the patch and am now trying it without it. First and probably last bioware game, it's pretty upsetting when something that's supposed to fix others problems just causes them for me. It's also a shame because it's so great. Will be posting a thread regarding this later as well.
