Varric's embellishments aside is there going to be any explanation for this over the topnesss? Or is this just the rule of cool at work?
Is there any explanation for the over-the-top warrior and rogue abilites?

There is also an explaination for the flipping and bouncing: lower gravity. Also the world is flat.silver-crescent wrote...
^ It's not really the same. There is actually explanation for the existance of all those things ingame.

Source or it didn't happen. It's really not so bad after awhile, you get used to it though it's certainly not pleasing to look at for me.

Well where is your source that it is the same gravity as on our earth? Coincidence? And it was designed on a computer so how round can it be?Naitaka wrote...

If I told you it's a mage spell, would that improve your immersion?Satyricon331 wrote...
I'm with the OP. It reduces immersion for me, while mages wielding magic doesn't.

It is exactly the same. The OP asks why rogues or warriors go all kung-fu during fights....because it is a fantasy game, and they just can. Real world laws dont apply here. What makes you think a rogue's training can't allow him to jump 10 feet in the air when a mage can throw fireballs?
And lets not kid ourselves, the real life reason is adding more eye-candy and more dynamic fights. Remember back in origins when you told your character to do a riposte and he was all *shuffle* *shuffle* *awkward keyboard turn* *riposte* ? What was the explanation for your character moving like a retard in position like that?
Maybe people jumping arround ruins immersion for some...but moving around with a pathfinding which puts Red Alert 1 to shame is equally bad.
