The "official" demo hasn't been released. Thus, aquiring and playing it before it release would be considered illegal. I believe, I'm no expert on international law however so all I will say is: PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
1. The German magazine Gamestar includes the DA2 demo on their DVD, encouraging customers to play it and get a taste of the game.
2. The magazine arrives at subscribers 4 days before the launch date that the publisher has announced for the internet version of the demo.
Are people who play the demo off the DVD before the official launch date doing something illegal? They paid money for the DVD on good faith that they would be able to use the data on it the moment they received it, and they don't know what kind of contract exists between Gamestar and Bioware that may or may not make it illegal. Bioware has said nothing on the subject, anywhere. Gamestar has said nothing on the subject, anywhere. The EULA says nothing about the 22nd of February or any sort of "do not play before" date. What kind of international law do you think applies here?
