There is a good chance that the 9 hour delay on the PC means I won't get to play the demo for 8+day until I return from a trip. 

But you know what?  Not gonna complain about it, I sure as hell don't need anyone coming in early after months of crunch time just because of the "I want it nao!" whinging.

That said if ya'll do switch it one early I would be eternally grateful! For at least a week or two

Cute. I'm talking as a guy who used to work in retail, particularly on the shipping end (I hate customers).

We never told a customer that a product was delayed unless there was a 24-hour or greater deviation between the originally promised shipping day.

Now, as to how often that actually happened... every single week. Different products, different suppliers, but yeah, we never got what was on our order sheet.

(I too worked in retail in the shipping end of things and I too hate customers.) However, in this case it isn't a case of someone asking and only I, or you knowing the timeframe. We know for a fact that the PC demo will be released 9 hours after the 360 demo and while this wouldn't be a delay in the retail shipping world it is here.

There is a delay in when it will be available with no good reason why. it's a digital copy therefore there is no waiting for a truck to drop it off. So really it's completely arbitrary in the case of the PC.

Someone still has to flip the switch.  And yes a team  has to be there because it's very likely we are going to crash the server, just like the community has many times before with big annoucements and demos.  If this happened at 12am this would not be good.

Plus before throwing the switch they have to get the coffee and read the DA3 planning emails

It's not arbitrary, Nine is when BioWare gets in the mornings so as to update the website to download it. They're aren't going to stay at work till midnight to do so.

Why Microsoft does their updates in the middle of the night, I have no idea. Personally, I always thought they were nuts, staying at work that late to update a damned website.

I almost want to cry I've been so looking forward and counting down the days until the demo, but I only have XBOX silver account... I was totally willing to upgrade just for the month so I can play it all time, but issues with my card being missing, so the number is unavailable...

You'll be able to download it sometime on 9:00 to 11:00 Tuesday morning :-)
