alright, so from scanning around the old forums and whatnot, I learned that skills have feats linked to them, right?

these are the cosmopolitan feats? I didnt get a good explanation of that whole thing.

now, if that's true, those feats can have spells attached to them, which is what Im hoping.

On the basis of all this being true, what Id like to do is create some active (hostile/non) skills that cast at various strengths depending on the result of a skillcheck, is this possible?

Messing with what happens when you use an active skill is complicated. Theoretically, they're linked to CombatModes.2da, but that 2da is a mess. I know some people (namely 0100010) have been working on re-doing active skills through altering the various GUIs that you might call them from, but that's not so easy.

What I'd recommend instead is creating some feats (linked to spells, which can give you access to ImpactScripts) and then have these scripts do the appropriate skillcheck within them. For example, I created a Demoralize feat that rolled Intimidate against a Will Save. In my example, you had to select this feat on level-up, but you could give it to a PC through various ways: adding it to cls_feat_*.2da, just giving it to the PC through FeatAdd(...), etc.

alright then, feats with spells it is...

that being said, would I be able to list these feats as 3 (granted ability) for list option in cls_feat_*.2da based on skill prereqs (as defined in feat.2da)? or would I have to set that up as bonus feats? this class also has bonus feats, so that could get irritating and messy

I had a thought about setting up my "skillcasts" with bonus feats, though it would be complicated, as in I would set up a version of each feat for each level they are available, with the min/max level of the feat set to that level, that way I could have the skillcasting feats accessible only on levels I want, and the bonus feats only on levels I want, even though they overlap? Any opinions or would that even work?
