40 points? Erm, most certainly no. Current estimates are 20 to 30(at best), there is no way at all you will be able to max out 4 trees (ad even the 30 is a stretch).
OK...assuming we have 25 then...I really want a specialist, so:
Maxed Out Primal: 10
Maxed Out: Blood Magic 10
5 from Entropy

-Primal: Stone Fist (Golem's Fist), Rock Armour, Chain Lightning (Chain Reaction), Tempest (Strikes Twice)
-Arcane: Mind Blast (Stunning Blast), Crushing Prison (Paralysing Prison)
-Spirit: Spirit Bolt (Spirit Strike), Dispel Magic (Transmutation)
-Entropy: Horror (Despair), Sleep (Coma)
I really want to invest in Force Mage though, so I might lose some of these for Force Mage points. Anders will be the healer/supporter.

lvl 20 Warrior
-------------------------------------
Two-Handed : 4 (maybe more)
Mighty Blow
Sunder
Scythe---> Reaper
-------------------------------------
Warmonger: 5 (maybe more)
Pommel Strike
Taunt
Bravery---> Bravado---> Bravura
-------------------------------------
Reaver: 7-10, Depends on upgrades and if I want the wing-boot icon thingy no one knows what it is.
-------------------------------------
Berserker: Left-over stuff but definitely want enough for Rage (im guessing thats a starter power) and maybe upgrades for it, any passives I can easily obtain with out going to extreme into.
My goal is to use mages to AoE tank like buffs and, ultimately, use Bravery fully upgraded, Reaver skills, and taunt to drag full groups towards me which will skyrocket my damage output. Then lay waste with the 2hander and other AoE skills. Good chance Blood Frenzy is a lvl 1 passive, so that'll just make the dmg more impressive when the HP starts declining, and im hoping Aura of Pain is the same AoE ticking sustained ability. And if Devour absorbs corpses for HP (or is a 'use' skill attack for HP) I'll be using that along with potion and an upgraded heal.
The Builds rather heavily dependand on physical resistans and a lot of HP. Lots, and lots of Con. May have Con outclass my STR actually. Since Healing stuff seems to be %based now that should mean more impact from that kind of thing. Ultimately I want the party being more about pure damage then much else, mages controle and AoE and the like. Rogue will either be that archery dude or Varric so I can AoE to my hearts content with out wacking the rogue.
Yay for Suicidal builds

RP wise, Kurn is... well I doubt I'll get to RP him like I do on Avlis heh. He's a very charming pervert is as simple as I can put it. DA2 It'll probably mean a lot of Joke/Sarcastic comments. Its kinda how I play him. He's usually very calm. And if he gets upset, there's probably going to be a lot of dead stuff.
That's the only reason I wish there was actual bonus intimidation or charm or whatever stuff with 'out' you having to have that personality set by the game. But I'll deal with that, probably just ignore a lot of the extra charm options if its combat related. He really loves to kill stuff, and I mean REALLY loves to kill stuff.
-edit-
Oh Man now im hoping Berserker has some kind of Terrifying Rage upgrade for the Rage/Berserk mode. I can see it now... on Rage 2 seconds of stun in radius. Betcha Rage is now an activated ability, 10-20 seconds or something. Would fit the description better on the site. The whole sustained 'on 24/7' thing kinda made it easy to just stay raged all the time heh. No real using it tactically.

lvl 20 Mage / Spirit Healer (probably)
-------------------------------------
Primal: 7
Stone Fist
Chain Lightning
Tempest---> Strikes Twice
Stone Armor
Petrify
Galvanism
-------------------------------------
Arcane: 2
Mind Blast
Elemental Weapon
-------------------------------------
Creation: 6-7
Heal---> Greater Heal (maybe)
Heroic Aura---> Valiant Aura
Glyph of Paralysis---> Glyph of Binding
Glyph of Repulsion
Rest will probably be pick/choose betwen some ugprades and Spirit Healer stuff. Or I may go into some bloodmagic depending on how some of thats handled this time around - but he wont summon demons if its available. Just life/death related stuff. LIke converting blood to mana or such. Was going to try to fit in some Spirit/Death stuff but that web looks to be so cluttered its a pain to get to anything with out wasting 3+ points just to get to it.

Heres another build for a Mage this time. Adhin Hawke, I always build 'Adhin' characters as Druids or Rangers. So, think druidy. RP wise I'll probably be diplomatic with some sarcasm/charm on the side. But hes usually a nice guy, less ...murdery.

Just two things. You need 7 points into the primal tree to pick up Galvanism. You only have 6.. Also Minblast is free so you have an extra point to spend.

Now for the primal tree...hmm, I dunno probably an upgrade then, well would have to be an upgrade. Hell if I know which one I'd want though, maybe Petrify or Stone Fist. I'm not a chain lightning fan, I plan to use Tempest most often and chain lightning as a mix-in. Course that could change if it look freakishly awesome, at which point I'd just have to hehe.

I'm almost positive we will have more than 20 talent/spell points. Max level of DA:O was 25 right? And we had a total of 33 points (I think) including books and special plot points. Plus, I remember reading something a dev said that by the end of the game he had almost 4 trees maxed out. Also, I don't think they would give us 2 specializations if we only had 20 points.
At least, I certainly hope we get more than 20.
Yeah, 'cause sometimes we would just be allowed an extra opportunity to level up (like after your Joining) or the opportunity to add 2-3 points in one level-up sitting.

Exactly. I'm sure we will start with 3 spells at level 1. So that's at least 22 right there. And then including spell books and plot points, I'm sure we'll get to at least 30.
