Thats right, i bought this heavily advertised game at launch day, at FULL price only to find out my 30 hr save got deleted! oh joy!
And then Bioware announced a patch, which is the least they can do really so I said ok, ill just wait. Now ive been waiting for weeks, and i still cant play my game without fear of my save files getting corrupted. I am just dissapointed overall, with both Bioware and Sony. Biowares lucky this is such a damn good game, or else i would have traded this in long ago...
But really a month?! for a major bug like this? Youve got to be kidding me.
Im sorry about the rant <_<

I got it on day one and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. It's not like I can't wait or don't have other things to do or games to play (doing my Dead Space 2 Hard Core run this weekend - what a game!), it's just that I could've waited for the price to go down. It's like 23 pounds on the UK Amazon, it's ridiculous.

Have you tried calling Sony? Sometimes you get a really nice rep and they actually will give you information.

Im mostly dissapointed in Bioware but you have to admit, Sony is taking too long to release this patch, while countless of other games are being patched.
I have no idea how big or complex the patch is - none of us do - so none of us can say if Sony is "taking too long". It's anti-fanboyism, and nonsensical, to think that they would just be sitting on it for no reason. There is some reason it is taking a while to certify, and none of us know what that reason is, but I guarantee you there is one.

with the high priority stuff on both the Sony and the Bioware side, even just in the next 4 weeks or so (Killzone 3, Dragon Age 2, and any/all stuff for previous titles) i'd guess a few Mass Effect 2 fixes, big or small, will be delayed a bit longer.
Can't say i like it, but it's the idea that makes sense to me... putting the patch on hold or at least low priority so they can focus efforts on making sure the new releases won't have any major issues.
must admit, my relaxed attitude is probably cause i've played it in every manner i can... some point recently lost the ability to go Real evil, Well, until the Promised Patch, or some shiny DLC for me to try and survive, ME2's staying where it is. in its box.

But on the topic of the patch...it should seriously come out already...I had to reset my game today because it was acting all funky.

Yeah, maybe they're too busy certifying all those patches for Gran Turismo and Killzone 3.

Right there ^
is the answer. I mean, a week and a half of certification is quite a bit isnt it?
Which is wierd, cause if i was Sony I wouldnt want a game that was so heavily advertised and a huge blow to Microsoft to be broken and get a bad reputation.

We do not know how hard it is/was to find the piece of code that causes the issue, and will the fix break other things.
Then Sony always takes 2 weeks minimum to clear a patch.
It being a month now is no surprise.

This is not true. The major New Vegas patch was approved by Sony within days of being submitted to them.

then get the game on PC, man. i am what some can consider a ps3 fanboy and i got the game on PC even though my PC sucks and im glad i did. ppl like vestedbasher make me sick because, hey, look at me! i got the game on day one, have been playing it nonstop and have never encountered one bug! (well it froze once but im guessing thats because my ps3 was on for 30hrs straight) so this game is not unplayable, and i bet the # of ppl getting corrupted saves are in the major minority. not that all complaining about the bug are haters but well some are.
I should buy the game twice to play the game bug free? No thanks. I make you sick because Bioware could not put out a decent product, makes sense.

When the patch does come out, maybe I'll buy the game.

Why the hell would you be glad to have it on the PC if you werent having any problems with the PS3 version? Youre not making much sense. If the PS3 version is not unplayable and the only people getting bugs are just unlucky, why bother getting the PC version?

I also have it on PC and have never had a freeze or any problem whatsoever although I'd rather play the PS3 version most of the time because I'm more comfortable with the controller, but the graphics are better on the PC...
So I'm wondering if there isn't something else going on yes?
