Ancient Egyptian gods and the pantheon of gods of the Ancient Greeks and Romans were part of major religions at one time, too.

Yes.. and Paganism still exists today, maybe no egyptian gods but ancient traditions are still maintained in Brittain and other various places. The egyptian religion existed for a bit short of 2000 years. Same as Christianity has existed for so far, and yet the decline is nowhere near is evident as it was for the egyptian gods.

The Greek gods were worshipped until the 4th century A.D when they were introduced to christianity. they began their worship in about the bronze era. 3000B.C.. So that was quite some time.

Similar to Roman paganism which was forbidden to be worshiped in 341 A.D

Anyway the roots of those religions were nowhere near as deep as Christiany.. Because Christiany exists on a much larger scale then those religions.. Also those religions were lost with ALOT of Bloodshed. Especially The Norse Paganism where people were being executed in the masses

Simply put, it's not impossible for the Chantry of Andraste to be deconstructed. Maybe it's within Hawke's power to accomplish this. If it's an issue between helping the Dalish elves and the mages of the Circle over an oppressive regime, I'll pick the Dalish and the mages.

It seems to be a possibility, based on some of the information we currently have.

That's good enough for me, thanks.

Yes its not impossible, but highly unlikely to end peacefully... To get the freedom you desire for the Dalish and Mages many innocents would have to die as a result of riots and wars that would follow in trying to remove a religion that has its hands in the politics of every country in Thedas save for Par Vollen and Seheron. And although it has little influence in Rivain it has influence none the less.

Considering that the people of Thedas have known the way of life of the chantry for all their life, and their fathers, and their fathers before them etc etc. Many would assist the Chantry in trying to maintain stability and control over the nations of Thedas.. It would be a massive ammount of Bloodshed.

The only difference between removing them completely and dividing them amonst themselves is the level of bloodshed. It is an inevitability that it will be had, but with varying degrees of death between both possibilities.
