Hello everyone,

Evernight is an action & exploration oriented world with primary focuses on both small party and solo play. The module itself utilizes many of the original Neverwinter items, as found through unique treasure chests around the world. The aim of the world is to offer players a vast world to explore, with many secret areas, boss encounters, quests, and dungeons throughout.

The world is designed for players to advance at a steady medium pace in both experience, gold, and equipment.

Exploration is encouraged so that players may discover and complete sub quests and hidden dungeons.

Several spell changes have been made to adjust balance, and changes will be made in the future as neccessary.

Currently the module is in development, as it is a new 2011 project. However, it is currently available online 24/7, hosted on a dedicated server.

No downloads or Haks required!

Evernight finally has it's own dedicated server machine! The new action PW will now be available 24/7. The IP address has been updated in the first post, and the server vault, for those who have already visited, has been transferred over.

I look forward to seeing new players every day, and look forward to the community ahead!

Is it a hard or easy server you would say?

I mean....levels are for free or you actually have to work for them? Death is cheap or costly?

What are the level limits? You start at 1 (?) and max level is? How long time aproximately does it take to reach max level? A week? A month?

Do you use any HAK's?

Based on a glimpse, you start at 2nd and may go until 40th, I believe. It looks as if it set-up to be done as solo, or as a co-op team effort. There seems to be info gained to your Journal at creation that may have more answers.

A forum or info page would also be handy.

All players start at level two, and will have access to level 40. Play can be done solo, with summons, or with a party, with no experience penalty.

Experience comes through brute force for the most part right now, however there will be other avenues such as Bounty hunting rare creatures, dungeon quests, and DM events starting next month.

Experience gain is on a medium scale. Things may start a little slowly due to low level mobs giving mediocre experience, however once you're able to adventure a few areas out the experience rate will pick up quickly, and never wavers.

Death is treated like a normal death, 10% loss of both Experience and Gold, and a nice heavenly drag back to town.

Now that the PW is on a stable server, much work is going to be done in terms of area expansion and custom items for end game content. My primary goal is to have tons of content for max level players, as well as content for the journey to level 40.

Currently I am using a standard bioware guild page, which can be located at
http://nwn.bioware.c....html?gid=16421

Feel free to join and contribute, as I am looking for player feedback, or just take a look through some of the threads. Web page will be coming down the line, for the most part I need to focus on the PW right now.

Again, thanks for your interest!

Expansion has been going great thus far, and Evernight is finally starting to see a regular player base - fantastic!

Area expansion is still on going daily, and the official Evernight quest line has been added now as well, which will also be expanding daily.

If you're looking for an action oriented world full of exploration and quests, stop by Evernight and take a look around!

I'd like to check out your server and will likely be rolling up a PC there in the near future. However, it would be very helpful if you could give a "FAQ" or a list of rules, hak requirements, spell and feat changes, etc. Or, if none of those things apply, you might wanna consider stating that somewhere. ;^)

Thanks for the suggestions Gregor, I have updated the thread, and have started the Xfire group which will server as the "Official" group for Evernight. All the information you need about Evernight can be found there, such as spell changes, etc.

Not many people seem to be using the old nwn.bioware.com site, so I doubt the guild there for Evernight will be used much after this.

It seems it did change IP! How odd, I've managed to make arrangements with with a redirect, so these problems will not occur in the future.

Our new fixed IP is: evernight.redirectme.net

Starting experience rates have been increased, so starting anew is now even easier!
New characters now start at level three.

EzRemake,

I had a PC on your server and was having a pretty good time so far, but you lost me when you disabled HIPS. My current PC wasn't going to take any levels in Shadowdancer, but I've seen where this path leads. I'll be moving on now.

Just taking care of some things that behave less than friendly in gameplay, which personally I felt HIPS was. Going stealth at any time wasn't a big issue until I learned you could misuse it to make mobs go flatfooted.

You have to understand that not everything is viable from a balance standpoint, if you want to make things challenging for all without making it impossible, small changes like this need to be made. The only other major change I could see being HIPS size is DevCrit, which I've already planned not to remove because there are other ways around that one, and some classes REALLY need it.

Don't let change scare you off, just because I change one commonly changed thing, doesn't mean I'm going to travel to all these bases you're assuming I am going to. I am simply trying to spruce up the balance a bit.

*As of this time, HIPS is now enabled, but on a 2 round limiter*

For those keeping up with this thread, I wanted to let you know that I'm still playing on Evernight and having a good time there. EzRemake is doing a great job of giving us all a place to adventure without a lot of restrictions, and yet maintain some semblance of "balance". Kudos to him for all his efforts, and for being approachable with helpful suggestions.

I am also enjoying myself. Impressed by the size of this thing. Not only it offers plenty of areas to go adventuring but there are also quests and story!

Played a couple of hours now...alone unfortunately....where is everyone?

Things are definitely starting to pick up! Guilds are now being created, and different groups are forming.

We have just launched our Official Forums as well, for those who would like to be a part.

And as for people who are looking for a new place to play on Neverwinter, come on by and check us out, it's never been a better time to get started!

Isnt starting gold a bit low? Luckily I played mage so I just bought bow and couple of arrows but how fighter can survive with 250gp when medium armor costs twice as much? I am looting zombie and spider boss continuosly but yet didnt even earned 1k gp!

Also that binding is quite a strange, player can abuse this just to loot treasures -> log in, open one treasure, port to bind location where is second treasure and loot it, then to town, rest to recharge bind item/spells and run into first treasure again and log out, not mentioning that relog cures hitpoints and replenish spells, so casters can kill anything, if they run out of spells they just relog and may blast the enemy again. I would also guess that relog may also resurrect a character, but not died yet.

Also the quest "system" is very noobish... I have hoarded like twenty "proof" items from the zombie and spider boss so far and what i am supposed to do with them? I already completed the quest.

250 starting gold is not low, not even for melee. Not only have I rolled many melee, but I've seen others do it with no problems. Looting "zombie and spider boss" is probably not your best bet for making GP, and yes, if you want to sit around and loot one chest continually, every 15 minutes, well, be my guest, enjoy your "experience" with that.

With your questing problems, the "proof" items, through deductive reasoning, you should have figured out that you only need one of. The purpose of a quest mob dropping 3 is for parties. Just toss your extras on the ground, and let them despawn. You said it yourself, you don't need them. As for the small token you get for completing a quest... Give me a break, it's a lot easier to deal with from a builders view, and you can just toss them on your last inventory page, or in a bag that is provided later.

As for logging out and in to replenish spells, not quite sure what I can do about that, especially when the option in the servers ini is instructed it to do quite the opposite. Clearly that option isn't working.

Personally I think EzRemake's quest system is kind of nifty. Easy and yet good.

About the server in general it all works. Didn't spot any real bugs or exploits. It pretty much holds water....at least thats what I think...and I've been playing at a few servers over the years...

@Ez: I'm back up and running. It's not the greatest hardware in the world though. This was my PW test server. *sighs*. I'll be building a new rig, but it will take time. So you will see me popping on during the week.

As far as the spell uses remaining goes: try setting "Restore Spell Uses On Login" to the opposite you currently have it to and see if something changes.

Yea, I understood why there is 3 instances of the proof item, and I figured that I dont have to take them. But you didn't understood me. I wanted to point out that you don't have to drop 3 proof tokens in monster inventory, instead you can give them into every player which "can see" the dead boss in his time of death (Which will solve parties of 4+ members). Or even better, you don't have to use tokens at all just one main player-storage-item to replace database and journal.

Just a main player storage item doesn't show to the player what quests he started and finished. Using a persistent journal in conjunction with that is probably the single best solution but because of the complications no server that I know of actually uses such a system.

Give the man a break....he just invented a new quest system for PW's....

About giving the quest items directly to all players I don't think that is easily scripted....

Well, the one thing with the token items is that eventually bics with huge inventories have been reported to cause lag.  Can't say for sure if this is true as in the type of game I run, that's not an issue.

Aside from that, I'm pretty sure this was all meant as constructive criticism....

Change your ini to the opposite value for the spells/HP restoration on logout/in.  It does work... you probably just have the value backwards.
