As for the option to disable spells after login, I'll try the opposite value, I just find it weird that if it were to work, the option would be completely backwards.
*Interesting, it does work, even throughout server resets.*
They should fix the option to read:
Do not Restore Spell Uses On Login=1

I've changed everything over to a one item token system, I wasn't initially aware you could store variables on an item, and have them last through server resets. Had I know this, I would have done things that way from the start, it's obviously a much more effective way of dealing with tracking.

Anyway..about the storing variables on a single object; yeah, I thought everyone knew that...even people with limited scripting abilities like me hehe...
Anyway #2; If you store all variables on a single object...how do you inform the player of quests taken and quests completed?

Via feature created by bioware for that purpose maybe? A journal? Evernight is actually the only one server I had visited that doesnt use it and writing informations into tokens.SuperFly_2000 wrote...

What most servers seem to use the journal for is to write a lot of stuff about the server...which is probably a good place to do it...but takes up the place of the quests then...

- The server is gone (or changed IP).
- The new forum he made is removed.
- His X-Fire guild is gone (or made private)...
- His profile on theese boards has been removed (or made private...)
Where are you EzRemake??
This looks like the server is gone. A shame...was a good one...

Sorry friends. It seems I approached this all wrong personally, and now I'm literally stressed out and tired. Nothing should have been released until ALOT more had been developed. I have learned my lesson there.
Sorry to see ya go. Evernight was a fun place to adventure.
Take care o' yourself and whatever else ya need to take care of, and hope to see ya again soon.

Running a server requires one to invest a significant amount of effort and time.EzRemake wrote...

Not everyone can manage it and it's hard to know ahead of time if it's something you can do, until you just go ahead and try it.

I have been doing this for about 5 years now and I will tell you this....you(as in all of us PW peeps) will never get it all right so dont stress about it.EzRemake wrote...

People always claim to have it just right but then someone comes along and points out this and this and some of that.
Just make it what you want and say frig them all. If you need anything give a holler.
This is just a fun game and everyone here in the Community digs effort first and foremost.

I hadn't played NWN in a while and I stumbled onto Evernight and I was very impressed with so many aspects of the world - layout, great monsters, progression to towns and waypoints, quests, treasure, the forges, dev crit enabled but limited properly, steady progress in leveling - not too easy or not too hard, the list goes on...
The only disappointment I had with the whole experience was I heard somewhere that at level 40 you could wear haste items so I stayed up almost all night for days to hit 40 and then put on a robe with haste and the haste property still went poof. I found out later that a quest would be available eventually to allow haste worn so there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I also want to point out that I was NOT disappointed with the lack of completeness in the mod in fact quite the opposite as I always looked forward to new content coming out in the future. If I had a say I would keep the basic system the same and just keep expanding. Everyone I played with liked it and with very little if any complaint. This is extremely hard to achieve given that your competition is a wide variety of multi-billion dollar systems like xbox and games like World of Warcraft.
So the answer is really 'Ez' - get the server back online, put down the hammer for a while and grab a cup of coffee and meet us for some more adventuring. Like you said in game "I really need to just play more." - I agree.
I also agree with the last poster you'll never get it all right so don't stress about it.

Changing Evernight from 1-40 to 1-20 would have been too much of a pain with all the implementations, forge, etc, and since I wanted to run a different concept, felt "why continue?"
I am working on a new project. I am not deterred from building or NWN, just Evernight. I'm sorry for those that enjoyed it and spent a lot of time on the sever, especially you Dean. Whether or not you want to check out my new project when its ready, is up to you. I'll let you guys know regardless. This won't be a project I'll be straying from.

Don't be sorry that we spent a lot of time and enjoyed Evernight - after all we spent a lot of time enjoying Evernight...
I heard anyway that it was better to burn out than to fade away. You did the better thing you got burned out but didn't fade away.
Good luck!
