There is one thing they cannot do. Inflict stabbity death.
And stabbing people is fun.

But, yes. Fashion has always been the reason I only play mages if I'm forced to or I've played every other class/race combo already.

But I rely on others to play as mage. Therefore, Bethany is definitely my full time party member.

The fact that they give you a tank from the get go with Aveline just makes the whole Carver if you're a Mage thing baloney anyways.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm also a racist because I support elven slavery. ;p

I rather thought they were a good reason to go naked.Kileyan wrote...

Doh. Also, if you play as a mage, you have to have that doofus Carver instead of Bethany. I know this is to help out the truely bad players, but it'd have been nice if companions weren't tied to your class choice.
Wow, you keep proving again and again how much of a bigoted halfwit you are.

When you start calling someone a bigot for saying something you dislike about a fictional character, I think it's a sign you need to take a step back and take a deep breath.

This is completely offtopic, but Shorts, I miss Ron Swanson. Please bring him back.
OT: As penance for falling behind on Parks and Rec, I will bring him back until the next episode (6 days)

From what has been said you can save both siblings when you flee from lothering no matter what class you choose. So I see no reason why you can't play a mage. Same goes for why you can't play a warrior because following the logic that you can't play a mage will kill bethany, the same logic would apply that you can't play a warrior without killing the brother. But we won't know for sure until the game comes out.
You cannot save both siblings. One dies based upon your class choice.

Ah, it was my understanding it was based on the class you choose. Certainly, in the demo playthroughs on Youtube, it works out that way.

Not specifically for that.
But don't worry, I'm pretty relaxed, certainly enough to report you. You also seem very familar.

I though this especially odd, as warriors and rogues have access to so much new talents and abilities.

My biggest complaint right now is that Mages are essentially the same as they were in Origins; most of their spells were ported over from the original, and few spells are entirely new.

At least they improved most of the spells in some way, such as Elemental Weapons being based on your staff element, or Arcane Shield being able to affect the whole party. So while yes it is mildly dissapointing they don't have alot of new spells outside of Force Mage, at least it isn't a carbon copy.

Well, the reason rogues/warriors got a big makeover was because they were fairly passive to play unless you were doing something gimmicky like a solo run.
Mages seem very similar, but they do have a lot of increased group synergy. Their spells seem to have a lot of affects that play off of rogue/warrior abilities now. It's not a huge change, but it's a change.

Doesn't Hawke have that blade staff in some of the promos? See, implement for stabbity death. And yes, stabbity death is FUN.
