Cause Mages look very similiar to mages in Origins and Warriors and Rogues look completely redone.

Cant decide if first playthrough is warrior or rogue, second is mage and third is whichever i didnt pick for #1

I love to tank. So I'll be Sword'n'boarding. Mage will be the second playthrough.

You can't use a sword and shield with a mage in DA2, which was my mage setup in DA:O.

Because seeing Hawke knife someone is always more convincing with 60 strength.

Yeah, I don't like ranged combat in any shape or form.
So Warrior it is, I will also try cqc Rogue though.

Personal preference really. Personally, I'm really excited to play a rogue, particularly an archer.

This. My very first fantasy RPG character was a ranger (Baldur's Gate) and I imported her to BG2. She was dual wield but still the whole ranger vibe made me squeee. In later games (NWN etc.) rangers, archers in particular, have been rather meh...Lately I've really starterd to yern back to my roots since backstabbing people is getting kinda old. I'm really glad that archery has had a revamp in DA2, it actually looks fun.

Honestly, if you really like mages OP, then I don't see why switch to another class. I'm the type of person who stays loyal to a certain gamestyle and having gone through nearly every class in WoW, I'm happy to have realized that ranger/archer is where I should stick to (too bad the game is practically unplayable these days). Makes any game far more enjoyable when you are "in your own shoes", you know?

I prefer mages, but I'm keeping Bethany no matter what.

Stupid forced decision, but whatever.

Bethany is more appealing to be than Carver so far... and warriors are just more awesome than mages?

But hey, to each his own, I always lean more toward warriors then mages or rogues, so maybe I'm bias.

I know that this is wierd, but I absolutely love healing. So my first playthrough will be a Force-Spirit Healer Mage.

Is there any reason not to play a rogue? Why would you NOT want to do 350+ damage every half second?

Plus with all the mobility they're getting in DA2 it's gonna be fun as hell. Evade out, backstab in, combo, etc.

The mage class disappointed me a lot in DAO, but I'm waiting to see how it will be in the demo. If I like it, then I'll try it out again.

Mages are powerful. Women are 50% of the nation. The cousin thing, granted, could be abit iffy.

But I don't see any reason why it would be odd. I mean, the mages are apparantly in revolt. Of course most of the focus will be on mages, just as I'm sure there will be Templar heroes batting for the other side.

So yeah.. my play through first will be a female mage, somewhat similiar looking to my male mage. I'm not overly bothered, if anything, I'm quite excited! It'll be abit like the Heracles blood line, how so many important figures of Greek history claimed divine rights by being a decendant of him. So many will claim divine rights by being related to the Amell family! ^^

If you don't play a mage you can choose who to side with.

Not specifically for that.

But don't worry, I'm pretty relaxed, certainly enough to report you.  You also seem very familar.

You're reporting her?
For what?
She did absolutely as far as I can tell.
I think you're overracting just a tad.

Personally I never liked mages in DAO no finish moves and no melee combat. In DAO2 however it seems to have all these features so I might give it a try. Otherwise I'm more for a stealth rogue assassin or a two handed worrier.

Can I inquire why the general opinion is that Bethany is more wanted than Carver? Is it purely 'cause of that rather bad screenshot, or?

I mean, we've had little to no detail about any companions. I don't understand why everyone has emotionally bonded with Bethany already, and I feel left out. What's occurred without my notice?

This is really your personal preference. Like me, I always play rogue first.

Because she doesn't go against your wishes or do anything against you. She's just a perfect little sister that just does whatever you say, unlike Carver, who actually questions what you do. He is the rival afterall.

That's surely down to subjective character opinion? I mean, if you're talking about the trailer were player Hawke slaps Carver down, player Hawke was a mage. Surely the situation can be reversed, and player Hawke (obviously a non mage) could get pissy with Bethany for the continuation of Templar harrasment?

I just feel sorry for Carver. :crying:.. Saying that, he has atleast one person looking forward to him more than Bethany. As a person with two sisters and no brothers in real life, the idea of having another (albiet, pixel) one is not a very desired choice!

Well I just happen to have a sister IRL, , and to me it makes the family thing more personal.
If i could have played a mage and kept Beth , i'd do that.

I have two brothers in real life.  Carver's gonna die a squishy death.
