Every time the witcher is mentioned as a graphical comparison on this forum, a baby dies by imploding, Ughh the comparison was alright the first 65 times a poster said something about it, now it's being tossed around like a baseball during practice, please people use uour imagination do not copy paste,"yeah the graphics seem ok, but the witcher~****"
yea especially since The Witcher 2 is developed ONLY for PC, had they expanded to consoles they would have been very limited on graphics.

TW2 will be released on cosoles too. The difference is that the devs do the PC version first and then port it over to consoles, while most other devs do it at the same time, so PC version is nerfed by the console limitations - that is not the case with TW2.

True, but I don't find the art design to be good.

They didn't release the Witcher for consoles... they were going to but the project was cancelled about 2 years ago so they could focus fully on the Witcher 2.
The Witcher 2 on consoles is also pure speculation by fans at this point... if you actually go to their forums, you'll see they've said that they'd LIKE to one day make a console version, but not sure they can / will due to resources and team size.
At no point have they even confirmed / said they are outright making a console version of the Witcher 2. The only said they "want to". Frankly there was a lot of speculation they ditched the White Wolf Witcher game for consoles because the Aurora engine was poorly optimized / coded to run on consoles and it just wasn't worth the effort to try to get it to work on the 360 (The Witcher was a massive resource hog on PCs due to poor optimization & coding.. patches eventually made it much better though, but it's still inefficient).
It's a far stretch to expect the Witcher 2 on consoles anytime within the next 1-2 years... Cd Projekt is a small team (comparatively speaking) and I'm skeptical they can optimize their new game engine for the Witcher 2 to run well on consoles (it's demanding hardware-wise from what I can gather... and knowing CD Projekt's history with efficiency in coding).

“You can play The Witcher 2 with joypad – it’s implemented. The whole interface is designed with console in mind, in fact,” CD Projekt RED’s Jan Bartkowicz told IGN.
“It’s the first console project we would like to do,” he explained, adding that the console port is actually already playable in part.

Thank you!!!!!! I didn't realize I didn't want DA2 until I read your post! I'm gonna go cancel my pre-order right away! WOOOO!just jase wrote...
I know it will sound like im trolling but im really not. Its just that Im pretty dissapointed with Bioware and the direction their games are going in. The new art-direction is all cartoony and anime inspired.. over-the-top animations, weapons rediculously huge yet having no actual impact on whatever theyre hitting. Urgh.
For the sequel of a game that was billed as the 'spiritual successor of Baldurs Gate' it seems the whole thing has just been dumbed-down. Maybe im getting old I cant help but feel like bioware has sold-out. Is the next game just gonna be a dating simulator for 15 yo's to "squee" at.. urgh
What an abortion of a game.. bring on Skyrim
*flush*
...
What? Mission accomplished, right?
You can go now.
...
Bye.

Yeah, same thing was said about the White Wolf game (Witcher Console version announced several years ago) ... that got canned. I still wouldn't hold my breath on the Witcher 2 on consoles... not for at least 1-2 years after the release of the PC version.

It's a fact that DA2 has very dated graphics, everyone can see that, there's no need to make a thread and point at it.
We also know that DA2 no longer is affiliated to games like Baldur's Gate anymore.
We also know that the game got streamlined.
We also know that the new style is very cartoony.
Those are facts, so...no need to make so many threads about the issue. People know about those and you know, posting negative things on a forum about the game that's crawling with fanboys might not be such a good idea.
Also...stop comparing Bioware's current games to their older ones. There are 2 eras, one old-school era with RPG gems like the Baldur's Gate series and the current era with Bioware working for EA. I don't say that one is better than the other as it's up to personal taste and age. To me, personally, though, I just wish we could turn back time and have Bioware make the good old RPGs they used to make.
On the other hand, I can also see why some people like their games cartoonish / JRPG influenced, I personally consider it a shame but some like it and might not like older RPGs (mainly youngsters that grew up with dumbed-down, easy games).

And that's fine, I guess, if the story is good. But the extended gameplay videos that have been put on YouTube (whether they're "the real demo" or not, I'm 100% certain they're the real dialogue and voice actors) showcase some bad writing, bad voice talent, and just plain boring story.
There's a famous quote about a publisher who could tell if your book was any good by reading just the first line - meaning, you need to put your best foot forward and hook people in. Well, if the story gets amazing later, that's super, but the beginning of the game is pretty poor.
All of this is my opinion and I am sure 100 people will call me a "troll" because that seems to be the most popular word on these forums and synonymous with "person I disagree with", but believe it or not, sometimes games are bad, no matter who makes them (ahem, Final Fantasy 11, 13 and 14).
I could be wrong and the plot could get great after the first 5 hours or whatever, but the bad voice acting is something that isn't going to change. At least the VAs for Fenris and Anders are talented, so as long as Merril is decent, that will be my party for the entire game if possible.
