Here is the 1.41.1 Update -

Please note the folder structure has been completely redone for this update so you will need to clear out your override of my old version.

A special note to PW/Module developers - I have stopped versioning the hak file and from now on it will simply have the name "cmi_prcpack.hak" which will allow you to assign it once and simply drop in a new one. Module developers will no longer have to keep updating their module to pick the new version, they can simply add my pack once and all future updates will be handled.
  • Note about the +Con Fix: It is still possible to die if you are low on health and unequip a +Con item. For example, a level 10 character with 20 hit points left who unequips a +4 Con item (and has no other +Con items/spells) will lose 20 hit points and die before my code can heal them. That's because the engine itself is subtracting those hit points and I can't stop that. So don't unequip items when you are low on health.
  • +Con Fix - 1 point of healing will only occur if the player has more hit points than their max (ie, they have temporary hit points).
  • +Con Fix - Equipping/Unequipping items will now handle all cases of +Con items. You cannot go above or below your current hit points when equipping +Con gear. For example, a 10 HD fighter equipping a +4 item will be at 100/120 hit points. Unequipping the +4 item (assuming no other +Con items are equipped) will heal you back to 100/100. Multiple +Con items handle the interaction correctly. No more exploits and no more excessive damage/healing unless you change gear too fast for the code to keep up (.3s delay).
  • Acid Fog no longer has a SR check
  • Acid Splash no longer has a SR check
  • Added note to Wildshape that exporting your character, saving your game, and PW character saves will cause spell loss and remove all non-AC gear-based bonuses that transferred when you shifted.
  • 100% spell failure effect attached to polymorph and shapechange for those without natural spell.
  • 100% spell failure effect attached to WoC and Hellspawned Grace for those without guttural invocations.
  • Assassin description updated with flavor text to indicate non-evil assassins are known as Avengers
  • Bladeweave description updated to indicate it has a 16 DC
  • Bombardment no longer has a SR check
  • Burning Hands is now correctly set to be an evocation spell
  • Chain Lightning damage no longer affects items
  • Clairaudience now removes old applications instead of failing
  • Cloud of Bewilderment is now correctly a Conjuration spell
  • Cloud of Bewilderment no longer has a SR check
  • Control Undead and Dominate Animal fixed for the possible character breaking issue with domination effects not scaling down for players.
  • Conviction, Superior Resistance, and Greater Resistance will no longer stack with each other. Only the best spell works.
  • Countersong no longer accounts for your Charisma unless you have Dissonant Chord levels
  • Dispels are again functional (fix for 1.41 issue)
  • Dread Commando gains Improved Flanking instead of Team Initiative. This change was released in 1.41
  • Drown no longer has a SR check
  • Enervation is again working as expected (fix for 1.41 issue)
  • Gate/Epic Gate alternate summons corrected to have the right portrait
  • Greater Shout description now correctly indicates that a successful save negates the stun and cuts the damage and deafness duration in half (previously it indicated the deafness was negated).
  • Haste removes the previous application when cast
  • Horrid Wilting description no longer mentions a death descriptor
  • Horrid Wilting range is now correctly set to long
  • Hypothermia innate level has been corrected
  • Implosion loses its +3 DC
  • Improved Reaction removes the previous application when cast
  • Incendiary Cloud is now correctly a Conjuration spell
  • Insignia of Blessing description updated with the 1.41 change
  • Instill Vuln master spell corrected
  • Joyful Noise now extendable, can be refreshed, and now correctly shows the caster being affected
  • Mass Camo description updated to indicate the innate level is 2, not 4
  • Mestil’s Acid Breath shouldn’t have SR check
  • Phantasmal Killer and Weird are no longer stopped by Death Magic immunity
  • Players now immediately pick up any weapon that was disarmed (while in combat)
  • Ray of Frost is now properly an evocation spell
  • Red Wizard requirements changed to Human only subrace. No Deep Imaskari allowed.
  • Rejuvenating Cocoon now actually removes poison/disease as the description indicates.
  • Righteous Glory will now remove Strength of Stone (and will not stack with it).
  • Shadow simulacrum and glass doppleganger may no longer make a clone of a clone. If a creature has a localint named isBoss set to 1, the spell will fail (allows bosses to be immune to the spell).
  • Shout, Greater Shout description no longer mentions having a SR check
  • Spontaneous casters may begin freely swapping spells during level up (up through level 20). At each level up they may swap out any one spell of any level. This is based on the Retraining rules from PH2. See the optional downloads for epic swapping (due to increased spells known).
  • Stinking Cloud no longer has a SR check
  • Stone Body and Iron Body gains the missing EffectImmunity for Sneak Attack.
  • Storm of Vengeance no longer has a SR check
  • The Light spell no longer has a pink and purple tint to it. Whiter than white light!
  • Vine Mine no longer has a SR check
  • Vitriolic Sphere description no longer mentions a SR check
  • Wall of Fire and Wall of Perilous Flame no longer have a saving throw.
  • Warlock caster level cannot exceed 31.

A hotfix is available for a +Con healing loophole: This is a hotfix to address the issue with being healed when unequipping a +Con item and having no other +Con items/spells.



Download the UnEquip_Hotfix.7z file and it has the new Unequip script needed.

I cannot even describe how upset I am. I built an Implosion-based cleric who is the main reason I love to play this game. In one move, you crippled it, and my already poor kill rate with the spell is now about half of what it was. It is such severe, arbitrary nerfs that got me to quit Diablo 2 and Neverwinter Nights 1, and I beg you to reconsider this one.

The +3 to Implosion's DC, which has existed through the Neverwinter series and was added on purpose, is the only reason that Implosion is not completely outclassed by the colossal-ranged, party-friendly, self-friendly Wail of the Banshee spell.

Please change Implosion back.

Find the file nw_s0_implosion.nss and nw_s0_implosion.ncs, that is the script which does it, delete it and it won't use kaedrins version.

If you would prefer to do something more advanced and to give you more control, open toolset, use the menu item open conversation/script and type in NW_S0_Implosion. Choose the one in your override folder.

Looking thru his files i don't see it but i could have zapped them accidentally while i was merging his stuff, if it's not in the override, it won't go into effect.

look for the line that looks like
if(!MySavingThrow(SAVING_THROW_FORT, oTarget, GetSpellSaveDC(), SAVING_THROW_TYPE_DEATH, OBJECT_SELF, fDelay))

change it to be like
if(!MySavingThrow(SAVING_THROW_FORT, oTarget, GetSpellSaveDC()+6, SAVING_THROW_TYPE_DEATH, OBJECT_SELF, fDelay))

Do you see how i typed in +6, you can put in +4, +12 or whatever. Hit compile.

There now it's going the other way and is better than other things. There are some tutorials on scripting, it's pretty easy.

Hey guys, thanks, I appreciate the advice on overriding the change, but I play on someone else's permanent world and have no control over this sort of thing.



Trying to avoid this exact situation, I waited to play NWN2 until no more official updates were coming out, then I checked Kaedrin's changelog once I joined this permanent world and found that he almost always made things more powerful, not less. This change came as a shock and a disappointment.



I wish it could be rolled back. Implosion might have been overpowered for PvP, but I only do PvE. Implosion was already a niche spell, but it was still one of my favorites, and I built my character around maximizing its DC. Now there's barely a reason to use it at all, and I'm upset. People shouldn't have this done to their builds.

Elanee was quite upset last night, she couldn't target Owl's Insight on herself, or anything, really.



I see in Spells.2da the TargetType is I - which isn't anything, I think.

Vault's email system is broken, yes. I had that problem a couple months ago, sending a direct email to some staff member should work. IIRC, Beyondthepale's is beyondthepale@vaultnetwork.com. I guess Maximus is the same with "maximus" instead of "beyondthepale". Or if you can contact one of them through other means, try that.

In the meantime, can't you upload it elsewhere, like at dropbox?

Barkskin VFX removed
Bestow Curse changed to -4 AB/Saves/Skills
Bladesinger gains Medium Armor Proficiency at 8th level.
Caster's Lament can now target the ground
Change SetScale for elementals to .3 (up from .2)
Child of Night and Shadowdancer class descriptions updated to mention they can not be taken if the other class is present.
Chilling Tentacles, Wall of Perilous,
Storm of Vengeance, and Evards have an added note about only one cast a
time being possible.
CotSF, Templar, and Marksman gain a note
on how Paladin/Ranger caster level works when the Full Caster options
are not turned on (ie, CL 27 with 24 levels, CL 30 with practiced
caster).
Curse Song reduces all physical damage, not just slashing.
Daring Outlaw now only grants bonus sneak dice.
Dark One's Own Luck (Warlock), Arcane Resistance (Hexblade), and Dark Blessing (Blackguard) no longer stack with each other.
Death Ward description updated to indicate the 1 minute/level duration.

Description for the Heavy Armor Optimization line updated to indicate all of the skills that are boosted.
Dirge now triggers Clap of Thunder
Dispels streamlined to two subradials, ability to scribe restored (new scroll entries)
Divine Vigor effects split up so that they don't all end when the temp hps are gone.
Dragon Warrior now correctly gets Blind Fight at 8th level.
Dragonsong now correctly increases Perform, not Diplomacy.

Eldritch Disciple's description finally correct regarding the divine gift progression.

Eldritch Glaive is now a melee touch attack again.

Eldritch Glaive now has the updated touch attack code that normal blasts have (reducing AB when holding a weapon).

Heartfire gains anti-stealth code from FF and applies a -10 Move Silently penalty
Hellspawned Grace duration increased to 1 minute per caster level (up from 6s per CL).
Hold series, Awaken Sin, Bane, Confusion, Crushing Despair, etc accounts for protection from X.

Warlock's Darkness and Entropic Warding invocations now use my caster level function instead of the stock one.
Warlocks Charm, Curse of Despair, and Wall of Perilous Flame now use my spell resist code.
Wildshape now suffers a 100% spell failure without natural spell. Exploit loop closed.
Wounding Whispers now triggers Clap of Thunder

There doesn't seem to be any script code included with this update, just compiled scripts. Is the Kaedrin pack no longer open-source for the community? That is sad, I've learned a lot from your code and I always felt it was a good solid foundation to use in other projects.

Anyone who wants the source code can email me and request it and I'm 99.9% likely to give it to them. The only caveat being that I ask them not to share it. Due to issues with a specific PW I'm not publicly distributing the code and I don't want them to end up with it (if possible). It will make my life a life easier even if it's an inconvenience for other developers. So any module developer, PW, etc can have it as long as they aren't the one source this is meant to block.

1.42c Fix List:
Dark Companion no longer temporarily dissapears when you rest.
Feytouched description now lists their +1 ECL.
Extend Rage II-IV now have the correct names.
Extend Rage II-IV now correctly require the previous feat.
Elemental Companion scaling adjusted
Splinterbolt now only gains sneak attack dice on the first missile
Bug in DC and damage calculation of Rune of X feats fixed

Just some strange bugs I've found:
The Epic feat "Improved Whirlwind Attack" does not have Tempest Whirlwind bonus damage... Not exactly sure how you'll fix that but it's there (Maybe a check in Tempest Whirlwind or a replacement epic feat?)

The SR from Sacred Flesh does not stack with Improved Spell Resistance. Not really that terrible but racial SR stacks with Improved Spell Resistance.

1.42d Fix List:
  • Dark Companion no longer dissapears on area transitions
  • Ghost-Faced Killer's Frightful Attack now hits those within 30' (instead of 15') and no longer attempts to do spectacular kills.
  • Spirit of X spells no longer work if you are shifted, Wildshape (all forms) now removes these spells, no longer stack
  • AnimComp localvar deleted on levelup, not just set to ""
  • Hexblade spell book description for level 2 spells now correctly mentions Eagle's Splendor and Faerie Fire (not magical backlash and glitterdust).
  • Templar is now correctly turned off.
  • GUI source code included since levelup doesn't fire the levelup script without it.
  • New GUI source code available for MP that will fire the levelup script only for the PC and not the faction.
  • Dark Lantern now has Disable Device as a class skill.

Hello Kaedrin,

a) would it be possible for you to make the devastating critical feats from NWN available in your pack?

B) your PrC-Pack... are all the new classes/feats based on real 3.5 rulesets/games/whatever?
