Two of the biggest, most comprehensive hak packages available to players and module builders are the Community Expansion Pack (CEP) and Project Q.  If you are looking for information on where to get these haks, how to install them, and how to contact both teams through their websites and forums, keep reading.

Information listed here is also kept at http://www.neverwint.../cc_bighaks.htm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Community Expansion Pack (CEP)

LINKS:

CEP Community Forums (new):
http://nwncep.forumotion.com/

Download Latest Version (2.4a):
CEP Downloads Page for v2.3 and v2.4
If using version 2.4 or later, DO NOT USE the updater! It no longer functions properly with the latest CEP and will overwrite newer content.

Download Older Versions (up to 2.2):
CEP Downloads Page for Older Versions
Older versions may not be compatible with the 1.69 patch to NWN.  For some of these, 3rd-party modifications are available on the Vault (you'll want to do a search).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

INSTALLATION:

Players:
1. Download desired full version (latest recommended, of course).
2. Decompress files
- .hak files go into your NWN/hak folder
- .tlk files go into your NWN/tlk folder (if you don't have one, just add it)
3. Start playing CEP modules and PWs!

Note: Some older modules may require use of older versions of CEP.  Versions 2.0 and later are compatible backwards to v2.  Modules requiring older versions will require you to download that older 1.x version, which will not interfere with your installation of the latest version.

Builders:
1. Download desired full version (latest recommended, of course).
2. Decompress files
- .hak files go into your NWN/hak folder
- .tlk files go into your NWN/tlk folder (if you don't have one, just add it)
3. Add CEP to your module in the toolset (after making a backup copy)
- Open module in the toolset.
- Go to Edit > Module Properties > Custom Content
- Add latest cep .tlk file (cep23_v1.tlk)
- Add cep2_ hak files (use dropdown list)
- Move hak files into correct order:
- - cep2_top_v24
- - cep2_custom (optional -- empty hak that can be used by PWs for storing blueprints and scripts server-side)
- - cep2_add_phenos5
- - cep2_add_phenos4
- - cep2_add_phenos3
- - cep2_add_phenos2
- - cep2_add_phenos1
- - cep2_add_sb_v1 (optional -- contains scripts and blueprints)
- - cep2_add_tiles2 (optional)
- - cep2_add_tiles1 (optional)
- - cep2_ext_tiles (optional -- use ONLY if you want to overwrite the standard Bioware tilesets - without this you get seperate tilesets)
- - cep2_add_doors (optional)
- - cep2_core7
- - cep2_core6
- - cep2_core5
- - cep2_core4
- - cep2_core3
- - cep2_core2
- - cep2_core1
- - cep2_core0
- - cep2_crp
- - cep2_crp_s (optional)
- - cep2_build (optional)
- Click OK to begin module build.
- Save when finished.

Perhaps someone (other than myself) could add their voice to the "nominations for stickies" thread.  I posted the original topic start a month ago, but I've since added all the other information.

I don't know if I can actually delete my post for the GOG contest, pretty sure I was the one that made the topic.

I really wish you guys would add in tilesets since the nwn comunnity is so picky about downloading haks.

They already have dude. But getting permission from the folks you want the additional, higher quality, tilesets from is the issue, and I can tell you that CTP has no desire to be lost inside of CEP.

Hi, folks.

If you don't mind, could you start yourself a new topic/thread for opinions/pros/cons/etc. of CEP? I started this one purely for informational purposes.

Thanks.

Thanks for posting this info The Amethyst Dragon. Sorry I've been away so long. Built a new computer but had to wait for parts, then had connection problems, then had to figure out why NWN ran so poorly on a top-of-the-line gaming machine (fixed that btw), and that's when I realized I had forgotten all my passwords (damn you auto-login feature!).

So now I'm back to hosting the weekly CEP meetings and I should be poking around the forums more.

Cheers,
420

 <biting...>

Could anyone post or direct me to the reserved 2DA numbers CEP is using?

Now that I'm getting involved with coordinating the CCC, I'd really like to know where you're at and where you're planning to go...

Link that should include a version 1.something of the CEP .tlk file.

This one I don't know. I'll post the question in the CEP forum for you.

I heard the opposite.  They did not include proprietary content BC they did not get permission.

It appears this topic has been de-stickied.  I'm bumping this.

I also edited the initial post to include information on Project Q and a link to the same information at www.neverwinternights.info.
