This is for things that caught you offguard and that most people might miss because they ignore an area or choose alternate dialogue which denies you from the interesting occurence.

My example is as an Dwarfen Commoner Male when you first talk to Lenske the first thing he'll mention is an lacivious comment about your sister. If you respond like a protective brother he'll mention that surely you've thought about it yourself if you answer Once or twice... He'll ask if you peeked in on her while she was bathing before saying not to tell him his heart couldnt take it.. An interesting little deviancy from our dear friends at bioware:devil:

If you play a female DC you can talk about a disastrous liaison between the two of you where he failed to perform.

I missed the sloth demon's camp in the Brecilian Forest for 4 playthroughs. It is great that I keep finding things in Origins, even on the dawn of DA2.

I've never recruited Loghain. Just couldn't do it... although I did listen to his dialogue stuff on youtube. lol

The first time I played I completley missed Leliana.

I never quite get the top-end Dragon armour because I don't want to pay for it :D although for my rogues this is not a problem they still get fairly good light armour with 70% fire resistence. Good enough for me I guess.

Small thing...when I tilted the camera and actually noticed the ceilings I was surprised at how nice some of them looked. How many PC players ever saw them?

Edit: misspelling

I think it was my third playthrough when I realised Redcliffe had a mages board as well as the chantry and blackstone boards

on a recent playthrough in Ostagar I got a lecture from Duncan after being caught trying to pickpocket one of the soldiers. hilariously he didn't tell me off for stealing, only for getting caught :P (appropriate though since he was a thief himself before becoming a Warden)

and even now I keep discovering new hilarious party banter

The merchant Leske talks to in DC origin as soon as you leave Dust Town sells a bottle of moss wine. You can buy it and give it to your mother for more dialogue.

You go into the study off the Library and chat them up.

My roommate named his M!Cousland rogue Han Solo. When he was addressed as "My lord" by Iona, he got to say "Call me Han Solo." It made his night xD

I love the random background npc chat. In Witch Hunt there are 2 mages talking in the circles library, one of them is asking about getting pets for mages and lists owls as an optional pet, the other mage asks what kind of mage would ever want an owl. Friggin Harry Potter reference if I ever heard one.

Guess I missed that, too. I didn't know until I just read that.
ROFL Glor!!! Oh BTW, I would have PM'd you with this but my message thing is messed up. The Merlin awards are being announced next week. The presentation banquet is in Vegas on March 4th. Thought you'd be interested.

How?

Just talk to them in the library (after meeting your mother but before talking to your brother).

How what exactly?? how did they miss it or how do you sleep with them??

I missed it on my first playthrough, because I did everything on the "lower level" first.  I got dog, talked to the chantry sister, helped the guy teach about the family, etc. before talking to mother.  after I talked with them I went straight up to see fergus.  I didn't double back until later and realized I could talk to Iona and Dairren. lol

I missed out on 40 extra sovereigns in my first 3 playthroughs, until my Dalish got Vaughan to give her the key to the chest in his room in exchange for letting him out of Arl Howe's dungeon. (She actually Persuaded him to give her the key first and then she left him there anyway, ha ha)

that reminds me, I only found out about the extra money a City Elf could make after hearing about it second hand. even on an evil play-through I couldn't bring myself to make a deal with that monster

miss slim couldry's quest on lots of play throughs. and how after jowan escaped, he only ended up across the lake in redcliffe. plus leliana's nug. and in awakening, blight orphans quests in amaranthine are just drunk patrons in the inn, if you listen to the idle chatter.

I wonder how many first-timers repeatedly bash their head against a wall determined to beat the nigh-on invincible Ser Cauthrien at Howe's estate and miss the whole Escape plot. Fortunately I didn't - but I was surprised, and don't doubt it's something a lot of first-timers miss.
