Graphics not better than the Witcher 2: who cares? Content and Combat will rock!

I don't give a **** if the graphics aren't amazing since I am convinced many other aspects of the game will be!
Who wishes to join me in this thought?

Bad in general? Yes I care, very much so.
Hopefully, they'll prove me wrong and I'll like it, but it seems unlikely.

So unless graphics are perfect, you won't like the game?

I agree with all your points and I am psyched for all those reasons. I can still feel unhappy about the graphics.Stardusk78 wrote...

Further note that the graphics are something we can see yet while we cannot judge the story's quality...hmmmm, so technically, you base your argument on something you cannot yet judge...HMMMMMM.

Can you understand other people having opinions different from your own? Congratulations, you just understood graphics ****s!Fidget6 wrote...
I don't understand graphic w*ores. Sometimes I wish graphics hadn't advanced past PS1 just so I don't have to hear people whine all the time about how every little detail needs to be perfect. That's not why I play games....
Believe me, I am amazed at how much graphics matter to me. I actually played Gothic 4 for waaay too long just because it was so pretty.

That "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STORY" argument is retarded, sorry. If you think this way, play some games from the 90's. Graphics aren't the top priority of most players but just saying "Yeah they are bad but they don't matter!" is stupid, you could also turn it around and say that "Yeah, story is bad, as long as graphics are good!".

So the simple solution is to not buy the game. If you do buy the game and whinge and **** about it, it is your own fault because you bought a game that you knewingly realised was bad...simple solution, don't get the game.

Something a bit more along the lines of this, perhaps:

I can't wait for my preorder and wanna know something? I don't care a wit whether the graphics are a bit dated. I am PSYCHED about the story and combat, the many different opportunities for different character builds, i.e. specialists vs. generalists, the romances, character interaction and the almost guaranteed replay value...
I don't give a **** if the graphics aren't amazing since I am convinced many other aspects of the game will be!

But bad graphics =/= good gameplay, DA2 can suck at both.
Character builds? Really? First DA is medicore at best in terms of mechanics.

I play old games all the time, the graphics don't bother me. My favourite game ever is Kyrandia II (1993), I've replayed it numerous times.
'It's all about the story' is not 'a retarded argument'. It's not stupid. It's an opinion. To me, story matters the most. It doesn't make me or my opinion 'retarded' (also let's stop using ableist language
Also, turning the argument on its head and using a completely opposite claim to prove that the OP's claim is wrong is some poor logic, I have to say.
But I sincerely agree on your last point. We've seen some graphics but we don't really know much about the story, so we can't judge that yet. however, we haven't seen the graphics in all its potential either.

Stop feeling superior just because you don't appreciate good graphics. Tetris and Chess can do without good graphics, but an rpg with cinematic presentation needs good graphics, e.g. detailed character models to convey emotions etc.
So you won't be buying the game then, good for you.

In some of the newer games, everything is way too shiny and colorful and many effects are overused without a real purpose. I prefer a fitting style over the best graphics possible. And in my opinion Dragon Age 2 has a fitting style. Bad textures in Origins didn't bother me, I wouldn't even have noticed them without using the forums.

It does not need "photo-realistic" graphics to do this; DAO did quite well as far as I'm concerned, and DA2 looks like it will do somewhat better.

I find them serviceable. It's not like I'm going to have to strain my eyes or anything while playing the game. That said, there is no denying that BioWare is way behind the competition in this area. Hopefully they will catch up with Dragon Age III.masseffect706 wrote...
