I read an article that graphics all around aren;t that important anymore. People focus a lot more on gameplay now.

Well what can you expect. The game has gone gold for a while. No ammount of ranting will change anything. People are anxious for the release, all the haters who rage about stuff will still play and enjoy the game.....something must be said in the meantime.

Yeah, the internet is a great place to let loose our tribal nature.

To feel better about our own "tribe" we really have to set ourselves apart from all the other "tribes".

I personally pre-ordered DA2 and TW2, I liked the predecessors of both for different reasons.

I prefer to stay silent, or be cautios in my judgement before I play a game. We can't judge a game before we have played it.

I don't think of myself as a true fan of any series. I just like games in general as long as they're enjoyable. At the end of the day, regardless of graphical quality, both should be enjoyable (to me at least).

Let's hope so... but being a pc gamer a fear about DA2 much more than TW2

And that's what gets me, blood.

People act like the things they're complaining about have ruined the game for them and it doesn't seem like they're miniscule things. Yet, as you say, they probably will play the game and enjoy it. This'll also be the case at release, people will enjoy the game but still come here and complain making the thing they're complaining about seem like the biggest problem ever.

It honestly raises the question of whether or not people are just complaining for complaining's sake. Or just to get a rise out of people and said people trying to get a rise, may not have even played the game.

While I'm sure there are valid criticisims, there is far too much trolling and I'd hate to be the developers right now (this goes for any developer as a release date for one of their games draws near). So, it's hard to see what are genuine complaints.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the internet really allows humanity to show how nice and intelligent we really are.

Edit: Btw, not to drag on the debate because I do loathe it to be honest, but are those Witcher 2 screenshots even of proper gameplay? There is absolutely no UI shown on them. Whereas Dragon Age 2 is using the in-game engine to render the scenes, I believe.

Well for me "gameplay" was right in BG series. After that it has gone downhill. For example haven't seen in any game anything comparable to Kobold Lair populated by kobold commandos in BG1. It was a genius scitsofrenik mess. And with what? Just some kobolds, side quest, and a few mages.

Actually the Witcher forums are quite civil. However, I just do not understand the hate coming from either side on this forum... I so miss the old BW forums. RPG players have gone in the past 2 to 3 years between games as they waited and waited for the next release of a game to satisfy their gaming requirements. This year is all win with so many great games being released in this genre. I enjoyed the Witcher (I have TW2 pre-ordered) I enjoyed DA:O (I have DA2 pre ordered) etc etc. Just as long as both games, actually any game entertains me, I am satisfied (if it turns out to be a classic in the making, bonus). As for graphics, yes TW2's are better, that is not a bad thing to say (and yes I am waiting to see what nice eye candy dx11 and maxed out settings do for DA2 as well). Graphics are important, games are a visual medium after all, however both these games have 2 totally different art styles. The graphics in both games are being used to help tell the story, if they both succeed at doing that win/win (myself I am more of a fan of great ambient sounds that are well ctafted and placed).
