really? I thought the DAO combat looked abysmal and DA2 took a big step foward. Maybe we're looking a two different games.gastovski wrote...
on contrary graphics are bad or good but combat looks terrible

Love how everyone's bashing the original Witcher's graphics, when they fail or intentionally miss the fact that the original Witcher used BioWare's own Aurora Engine, y'know the engine that made NWN series?
And I love how everyone starts to judge the game based on sex cards and whatnot. Seriously have you played through the game? Y'know like not stopping in the middle of Chapter 2, that's the DA:O equivilant of quitting in the middle of your Origin story, play the game from beginning to end if you want to judge Witcher's story.

I don't understand how a game without the ability to bone half the people you meet can sell better than the Witcher 2 or Dragon Age II.Anathemic wrote...

This whole argument is especially funny since Diablo 3 with its top-down graphics will sell more copies than TW2 and DA2 together.

That "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STORY" argument is retarded, sorry. If you think this way, play some games from the 90's.

Some game only P. C. extremists (sic!) heard about.

That image is not from an 'old game build'. It is from a post made by a dev on the Bioware blog, days ago, talking about the lighting in DA2.Russalka wrote...

you'd get more enjoyment out of a book then if all you care about is story.
Such bold claims from someone who has nothing to do but spam old build images and has not even played the game yet.
Note: The game has gone gold.
This is a GOOD example.Delerius_Jedi wrote...
So far much of the reason so many people are looking to The Witcher 2 is because CD Projekt have been very open about not sacrificing substance for "coolness" and I'm hoping the Dragon Age II team have taken the same course.

How do you figure that? According to the developers, the Witcher 2 has three different beginnings, depending on decisions made during the first game, and 16 different endings depending on decisions during the second game.Ariella wrote...
The problem is getting from beginning to end. Geralt never apealled to me. I just couldn't get into the character, but that's the major difference between Witcher and DA. The Witcher team can take extra time to work on graphics etc because the character is extremely predefined. Hawke's story on the otherhand has a lot more decission branches that need to be considered and that has to be balanced with game design, graphics etc.
Witcher and DA are two very different types of RPGs, and comparing them is like apples and oranges. Some people like apples, some oranges, some both, and some are violently allergic to one or the other... Arguing is silly.

Let's try this approach: You know that awesome loot system that Borderlands has? Randomized loot and a bazillion guns? Well, that's from Diablo 2. In fact, that's the reason people still play Diablo 2, and also the reason why most people who play Diablo 2 actually buy it. To trade loot onlinethatbwoyblu wrote...

@Anathemic: in the Deep Road there is no ancient civilization, there is the dwarven civilization, which is still alive in Orzammar and Kal Sharock. And I don't see how Shepard's dreams can be compared with the visit of the Fade.
Anyway yes, Bioware seems to follow a certain path in their games. That doesn't mean the story isn't complex.

Geralt sneaking out of Lady Hawke's closet?
Damn, it's a shame they removed sex cards.
