Hm. I'd say the graphics are more than sufficient for this type of game in this day. Whether after 10 years they will be good, who knows. For now, they are just fine.



As I've said before, who cares what is better and how this compares to witcher. Don't like it, don't get it. I like what this year has in store, and will play and enjoy both DA2, TW2 and even TES5. The more, the better for me.

Until we actually play both, we cant say for sure whose graphics are going to be superior. Having said that, those pictures from that link earlier were incredibly impressive, certainly DA2 is gonna have a hard time matching those, but that doesn't mean they can't do it, what I've seen has been mighty daggone impressive so far. And keep in mind, DA2 is likely a vastly superior game in a number of other ways, so even if TW2 does end up having slightly better graphics, that won't change the bottom line, and that is that DA2 is almost certainly going to be a better game overall. But we'll find out soon enough .

OMFG here we go again. What was the point of starting this debate again. People are taking this too far. I would make a long post about people going overboard with the whole W2 vs DA2 but it would only spawn more trolling and unreasonable arguments because people are fanboys or have very strong opinions and just cannot come to an agreement and have to pit 2 games that no doubt will be great against each other. I will get both and will waste countless hours of my life playing both.

I'm with you, OP. People say that about DA:O, and it is perfectly servicable to me. Bethesda's Fallout 3 had graphics from decades ago, so DA shouldn't even be derided much.

I like the graphics of DA2, I don't see anything bad with it :/ . And I agree graphics are important in RPG games with a cinematic approach, but I believe that the graphics of DA2 handle that more then well enough.
Graphics, Story and Gameplay all have their importances in RPG games, neclecting 1 of them wont make the game any better.

And why must the Witcher 2 be brought in? Does it make the game bad for having better graphics then DA2?

Despite how awesome it looks, let me say that I probably won't buy TW2. I didn't like the first, and I'm not a fan of European RPGs in general. Not to mention, CD Projekt has been mean and rude when it came to talking about DA2, and they have a trailer for TW2 which is, quite basically, Triss as Varric and Geralt as Hawke.

Yes, I know the devs denied knowing about DA2's storytelling device. I want to believe them, but being ***holes in general to Bioware doesn't help.

The Witcher 2 looks very impressive technically, and I would say that a large part of that has to do with their targeted platform, which (at this point in time) is PC only.

While DA2 will look better on a high end PC compared to consoles, I remember it being mentioned that BioWare wanted greater visual parity across all platforms.

Anyway, from what I'm seeing, DA2 visuals are pretty standard and comparable to most other recent console titles, and DA2 has never been billed as a technical marvel, so I think these comparisons are unfair.

Graphics are important to an extent but mostly it's going to be the story and gameplay that ensures a game succeeds.



TW2 does look promising to me as does DA2 but one thing I am tired of are people freaking comparing the two on Bioware's forums. Does the TW2 forums experience this crap as well?

Stop hating. CDProjekt never insulted Bioware or any other developer quit the opposite actually. They did make some stupid statements but the one said by Tomasz Gop about graphics is take way out context. It is ok not to like the Witcher or European Rpg everyone has their own taste when it comes to games. The prison break is only a trailer though not a game mechanic like in DA2. They may have not known or even if they did does it make a difference? Did the DA2 team came up with the idea of one character telling a story to another Character? No.
