Am I blind or do the Rogue auto-attack animations look really awkward?

Judge for yourself. Something is off about them. I don't know, it seems like she's attempting to dice up fruits and vegetables with those strokes. And why spend so much effort spin-jump-kicking something every five seconds? The mechanics look really fun and I'm glad the awkward shuffling is mostly gone, but the animations are just off-putting. They look like they're straight out of an anime. I vastly preferred the DA:O animations (especially the backstab animation, which had a lot of weight in it).
Of course, there is always the possibility that I am blind, and I don't even know it. So which is it?
Graphics suck, Witcher 2 is better.

"Why do enemies explode when hit with a sword?" "Why do miasmic flasks not break upon initial impact of the kick rather than when hitting an enemy?" "Why can't all game mechanics look and work exactly as I want them to!?!?!?"

EDIT: Just realised they're the ones rogue hawke uses in the champion trailer. Dunno why just really don't like them.

you have the explanation right there. In Origins the Rogue would continue to shuffle along, trying to get into attack range. Here you have the jumps to do that. The Problem is that the targeted darkspawn keeps moving, which causes the jump-jump-jump-.... I would have used a talent to avoid that or just changed targets.

the guy is running away. Assuming you're talking about the aesthetics
and not the mechanics, anyway. That looks like it's the mid/close range
closing attack, so it's got to be an animation that has some momentum to
it. Given they're obviously trying to play up the agility of rogues, I don't have a huge issue with it.
Obviously that's all taste though. I have no problem thinking of rogues as ninjas/dudes out of Jade Empire and that fighting style existing in this world, so it doesn't bother me.

I adore the new rogue animations. They do scream 'ninja,' but where a lot of folks seem to dislike that, I love it. Anything to do with kicking and spinning makes me smile.
I agree. It’s pretty much what I wished my rogue would have done in Origins.

You probably play a Mage or Warrior, don't you?
Yes.
Rogues: Cool but only useful for lockpicking and bisexual romance.

Those various Kicks are actual powers, if you watch, you'll notice that, so you can auto attack all day long, if you want, never use em

Hmm...I see 3 powers in the action bar: First one is Backstab, second one is Evade and third one is Miasmic Flask.
We can rule 1 and 3 out. The evade description is something along these lines: The rogue leaps backward. Enemies within melee range will often seek an easier target instead.
Do you think its the evade?

Yes, Watch the video, watch the icons go off, The Flask is the spin kick also, they spin kick the flask into a mob.

Oh, I wasn't talking about that spinning kick. I was on about the move where she leaps with both legs spinning arround, hence the "butterfly attack" reference. Its the one that looks like a cartwheel...ish..kick.

Not quite, the spin kick seems to be the Rogue's closing attack. Miasmic Flask is obvious when used since you see the character kick the flask. Evade can be seen at the 1:00 mark of the video.

Is it realistic or in any way necessary to falcon-kick bombs everywhere and slap your knives around haphazardly? Probably not. But it looks damn cooler than just poking the enemy with your sword like in DA:O, at least in my opinion.
