This is all irelevant, but you're stating outright Justin Bieber is bad. I hate his music, but you're stating your opinion is more important then that of his fans, and that their opinion is invalid. That is arrogance at it's height.

But their opinion is  invalid

Yes, but my point is most the members here prefer ME2 to ME1. Don't make me post the polls.

Thats because of more action gameplay, better graphics and more cinematic style. I really doubt that so many people prefer story of second game. I mean the main story, regarding the Collectors, not side loyalty missions.

Oh come on. I can understand people liking ME2 better, but using some stupid online poll as the gospel is ridiculous.

Sometimes crap is crap and people need to be told so they don't waste their time and money on garbage. But since you're dead set on being Mac Walter's bananna rider, I'll leave you to bounce on it in peace.

Whelp that's it! This franchise was good as long as it lasted. The story keeps going down the crapper and Bioware is content to make a shallow shooting gallery as opposed to a proper RPG. Utterly depressing and stupid.
On the other hand we have had awesome stuff like LOTSB and Overlord. Let's see if it lasts

It's a poll from this forum. As in, the majority of people here prefer it.

Quite right, but if the story was awful, I doubt people would prefer it. The story is at least acceptable.

"Banana rider?" What the hell, is that even an insult?

I don't think he has Drew's talent (though he is way better at writing characters), but he still doesn't deserve this hate.

Also, General Desolas looks a little different. In the first comic book he didn't have any of those "paintings" Turians have on their faces. But, anyone here can reply this by saying he decided to put them after Shanxi.

And, it's sad these plotholes. Well, Mac did say he uses the Mass Effect wiki as source of information... So, I guess that's where the problem is.

I'm not defending Drew, after all, he made use of some "retcons" in the books. It's just that Mac makes the same in a higher level.

I just think it's much ado about very little.

So lots of people like Justin Beiber and Nickelback that doesn't make that crap good.

Yes, but my point is most the members here prefer ME2 to ME1. Don't make me post the polls.

The members here are also a niche. Most casual and hardcore RPG players I know who aren't Bioware fanboys prefer ME2. Most shooter fans I know also prefer ME2. Everybody wins.

The complainers are always louder with everything. People prefer to complain then praise, it's a fact.

EDIT
Polls to prove my point.

Okay you yourself just said that we're a niche on these forums, so you know, those polls don't have a massive selection bias or anything.

I like the comments of the OP, I must add to some of those contradictions you guys say the comic has, that it might be a little early to judge the whole deal until its over. I personally think it's not as bad as it looks, I'm no comic fan myself and I dont take them seriously, all what matters to me are the games (I don't see any point to comics and novels, which I think they suck).

The only thing I think might be the "anecdote", the point of the comic, is to make the player realize how similar TIM and Shepard are, and in what the latter one might become if he chooses that path at the end of the game or something?

I think I just figured out why so many side (squadmate) missions had little to none to do with the main plot...we are now witnesses of results when Mac tries to involve in main plot...

I give up. You all seem to be fixed that this one comic means ME3 will be awful. Bioware has the most ridiculious, arrogant, overeacting and unappeasable fanbase I've come across, and that's saying something.

It was posted in 2010 right after ME2 came out. I didn't vote, and who knows how many other people didn't vote. What a silly conversation.

What about the other 2? That kotor vs ME1+2 is more recent. ME2 still won against both of them. If I made a poll after this mac hate fest dies down, ME2 would still probably win, assuming the extreme haters don't create 5 accounts each to vote it down.^_^

And I agree, most of the conversation in this thread is silly.

I also love how everybody is snipping small bits, often out of context, out of my posts instead of foucisng on what I'm trying to say.

You're right to want consistency, I've wanted that since revelation. You're wrong to start bashing Mac, acting like Children and declaring the death of the franchise.

A devoted fan would have faith, not despair after one poor comic. A devoted fan would of course also complain about the rational faults to try to improve the quality of future content, without doing the whole "ME3 will suck" and "omg bioware fire Mac he is a hack" routine.

One bad comic? Are you serious? What rock have you been hiding under? We have 2 bad comic series (really 1.5, but by the time they get done with the current train wreck it will be 2), and a totally failed ME2 (yes there was no real story in ME2, just a bunch of back story shorts for companion characters nobody knew of).

No sorry that isn't what I was implying.  I guess I didn't really explain further.  I meant to say that the polls here aren't an entirely reliable metric.

But that's the thing, it isn't just one comic.  This is just the latest in a series of screw ups.  Now, I'm not one of the people who think Drew K. is infallible, and who knows what ME2 would have been like with him doing the primary writing instead of Walters, but overall the percentage of screw ups generated by Walters is much higher.

Of course the other comics sucked, but the whole "ME3 will suck" obsession has only just started now.

And judging by sales, metacritic, the GOTY awards and the general consesus that ME2 is indeed btter, ME2 is not a failure.

Well, nice to see somebody arguing civiliy.

No, they aren't an entirely reliable metric, but the consesus here is backed up by metacritic and other polls. ME2 is generally prefered to ME1.

No. I'd say Bioware has a very passioante fanbase that care a whole lot about the universe this game studio has created and does not appreciate these POSSIBLE changes to established canon. And this isn't in regards to ONE comic. All of them have been bad, but the latest 4 issue one is from what it sounds like a pretty big deal in terms of what it migth setup for ME3.

Nobody here would love more than to be proven wrong, I can guarantee you that.
It's still very important to voice well deserved critique, since Bioware DO listen to their fans.

I said earlier that it is important to voice critique, but it's also important to do it civily and maturely, something most people seem to fail completely and utterly at.

Okay maybe I overeacted but I did give examples of good storytelling. It starts out small but a lot of this may end up in Mass Effect 3 since the comic's story will apaprently be the basis for it. If Bioware doesn't want to aim higher than what Mac can cook up then this is all we'll get. Retcons and inconsistencies.

Well, Mac didn't trainwreck ME2. It's a shame Drew isn't involved in ME3, but I doubt Bioware will let Mac destroy ME3 with a story fit for something from Sci-fy channel.

Thanks for the thread OP. This needs to be discussed.
