Much more deep and with an awesome story and characters, this will be the game to take the throne from BGII. just look at how amazingly relevant and deep the skill tree looks, compared to the redundant and overfilled mess that was BGII abilities.

That's a very very tall order.

To be honest, I have no idea why I loved that insanely ancient game so much, but I know I played the hell out of its ancient a**.

Yeah that sentence is really weird.

I'll be seriously surprised if it's even close to being as good as Origins, let alone BG2

For me, it's looking to be BioWare's worst game since Jade Empire

BG2 isn't "insanely ancient". Image IPB It's only 11 years old. It can't even vote yet.
Ultima 7 is 19 years old and it's still one of the best CRPGs ever made.

The term beating a dead horse comes to mind when I see a thread like this.

Really? There are older games that can run on my comp?

I've tried running FF7 and failed. Also, I don't remember seeing Gamespot reviews on any crpgs before Planscape. I should probably ferret through GOG. Do you know any good review sites for ancient (and not so ancient :P) crpgs?

Better than DAO? It could be. Better than BG2? I don't think so.

Nope. Not unless you're still a teenager.

Baldur's Gate 2 is not ancient, let alone insanely ancient. It's barely old.

I haven't either. I'm fairly certain that it is some kind of video game sin. I briefly played one of the Baldur's Gate games on the PS2 at a friend's, but I can't remember which.

And I started gaming about 11 years ago, so it is old for me. :D

DA has poofs - Zevran is one of them and I'm guessing Fernis will be one as well. So you have your wish don't you?
