I just looked at my old BG2 savegames and I spent 123 days and 8 hours of game time on a single playthrough, which makes, if I remember that correctly, over 246h real time without ToB.

Much more deep and with an awesome story and characters, this will be the game to take the throne from BGII. just look at how amazingly relevant and deep the skill tree looks, compared to the redundant and overfilled mess that was BGII abilities.

Considering Bioware themselves have stated that making a modern copy of BG2 is unlikely, unfeasible and impossible, yes, I don't think they or anyone else possess the resources to make a game reaching that level of quality again.Suron wrote...
Never in a million years will BioWare outdo BG2. Games are far too complex now-a-days for one..to get the amount of depth, story, and detail. Not to mention EA wouldn't go for the time or resources it would cost to do such a thing.
so again.
