Miranda already looks liker Yvonne Strahovski..... what's the problem???
Her nose?
Her jaw?
Her chin?
Cheek bones?
Eyes?
Oh I get it... face isn't a typical "beautiful" face -aka Generic beautiful face that too many impressionable people see as "the look to have".
Grow up.
There's nothing wrong with aspiring to beauty.

Tired of gaming women looking like Barbie, a blow-up doll, or anime characters. Diversity is a GOOD thing. They're still beautiful women.

However, at the same time, I wish people would stop making strange, inapplicable references:
And misusing the term ‘uncanny valley’:MarqueAZ wrote...

No for both Jack and Miranda. Jack's got the most beautiful face of any female in the game. Miranda occasionally has a bad case of the uncanny valley, but that second picture looks even worse.

Anyone who likes the edit is probably influenced by the hair. I genuinely believe Miranda's hairstyle in ME2 is a large part of what makes her look less than ideal.
And what's up with people who try to describe facial structures? I feel like I've read comments about Miranda/Yvonne's jaw being manly/huge/square/whatever, when her jaw is just normal and her chin is ridiculously rounded, making the whole thing probably look bigger to the weirdos than it really is. She's fine.

and I prefer original Jack and Miranda, not that that the alternate Miranda is bad looking at all, but, to be honest though, it is too much the typical pretty girl from a video game. Original is "original".

I wish BioWare could better recreate Miranda's appearance in Galaxy. She looked gorgeous, and kinda Spanish/Mediteranian. I swear, Marina Sirtis would've been the perfect facial model/VA for Miranda, and you know she would've jumped at the opportunity...

Good work for Miranda, but old one is more interesting to me.
Jack is better with NO hair! That`s the catch, to loook more insane and dangerous!
But I agree female Shepard should be preetier...)
I would be happy with Jack having hair for ME3. Makes her look less like a Bull Dike.

As for Jack, it does not make sense for her character to look like the alternative version. The original is very acceptable.

For a character who's supposed to be genetically perfect with an intentionally-design idealized physical appearance, having a fugly face makes her somewhat difficult to take seriously. So no, I don't think making her the typical "idealized pretty face" is asking too much; in fact, she's the one character where having an idealized image is pretty much a requirement.

Don't ''fix'' something that isn't broken. And that's just your opinion, you can stick it elsewhere. No need to go onto a ''crusade'' to change something to completely different.
Miri on Galaxy was indeed, fugly, but I liked her on ME2 and it's only appearance that matters.

If you look at pics of Yvonne, she does have pronounced front teeth - do have to give credit to Bioware for accuracy.JKoopman wrote...
I love how people try to defend Miranda's appearance in-game with "You think Yvonne Strahovski is ugly!?" I think pretty much everyone is aware that Yvonne is the model for Miranda, and Yvonne is a very attractive lady. I just don't think her face was captured particularly well in-game, and Miranda's face ends up looking lumpy and squashed as a result (and the nasty chipped/buck teeth that BioWare saw fit to bless her with don't help either).
For a character who's supposed to be genetically perfect with an intentionally-design idealized physical appearance, having a fugly face makes her somewhat difficult to take seriously. I just did a quick mockup in Photoshop of Yvonne and Miranda and Miranda's model is nearly spot on (some edges are sharper but it's a game model) - what is causing her look to be warped is the hair - it makes her face look wider then it really is. Bioware doesn't need to do anything to the Miranda model EXCEPT work on the hair to make it look more natural...both the model itself and the texture.

Yeah, 'cause she looks soooo much like one now, what with all the make-up and slender build and whatnot.

Uh, yeah, no. Just swapping the hair ain't going to do jack. When Miranda looks weird, it's the lighting. When anybody looks weird, it's usually a lighting thing.
