Your build seems to emphasize second wind/last push but I was wondering, with stamina potions available now, would it be a better idea to simply use those potions instead of a second wind? The way I think about it, if you dedicate enough time into making stamina potions then you are doing more dps because that point that went into second wind could have gone into dps ability in, say, berserker.

Who knows? Hopefully they put long cooldowns on potions, as potions were terribly overpowered in the original dragons age.

Some interesting thoughts indeed. One question though: You plan all of your companions skills from level 1; in DA:O this wasn't possible because they were already started in a certain direction from the beginning. Has it been revealed, that the game offers respec or that all companions start with 0 skills, so one can develop them to ones liking?

I sure hope so. I hate having companions join with crappy skills you dont want them using.

I'll give you points for dedication.

This. I debating whether I ought to salute your nerdiness or be creeped out by it. I'm leaning towards the former.

A question, Sabresandiego; how do you know the xp cap is level 14? Has that been revealed somewhere?

Actually, DPS warrior is gonna be my first playthrough (assuming I actually get the game - depends on the demo). I thought going 2H Warrior + Vanguard spec should be a good start. Knowing BioWare games, it will be very possible to play completly in real-time on Nightmare.

It's too early to judge but I doubt in Nightmare you can depend on a 2 Handed Warrior alone as the main damage dealer... you're basically having too many support roles, when I play on Nightmare I'm always going with a warrior, a rogue and 2 mages party... Warrior will be a tank, rogue will be main damage dealer, one mage will be AOE Damage/CC and the other Healer/debuffs...

I'm not saying your guide is lacking because obviously neither of us know about the combat mechanics yet or how difficult Nightmare is gonna be, but if you were to make it work you'll spend a lot of time in combat.

You know, in theory, if you're planning on having those roles filled, you could always use two rogues (one damage, one AOE/CC) rather than two mages...

Rogues are about single target  damage only, but when it comes to AOE damage it's either Warrior or Mage, I pick mage because it works better over distance.

Awesome dedication to the whole concept mate ;)
I wish you luck in trying to achieve this. Not gonna be easy, but I'm looking forward to see if it is indeed possible.

Archers have several AOE attacks and would also help out with CC

I just paused a few seconds ago, trying to come up with a witty reply. Admittedly, this is the best I could do.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about archer, usually when I talk about rogues I mean dual wield, I might try it sometime, replace my AOE damage mage with an arhcer rogue, might be interesting how this turns out.

Are the skill trees for rogues and mages out? I could only find the ones for warriors on this forum. If you could provide a link I'd nerdgasm.

what if you used exclusively warmonger with vanguard with few points in the two handed tree? that way you have tons of area stunning with high damage output. that would be the ultimate crowd control warrior.

Silly thread is Silly. You cant possibly know if any of this is any good because the game isnt out yet. Based on text from an old demo that may or may not still be in the game is pure sillyness. Just wait till the game comes out, try it, then post something less nonsensical.

To reiterate: Silly thread is silly.

The first thing I said was that this guide is in alpha stages. It is based on the information currently available to me. No doubt the guide will change drastically in the coming weeks the more things are revealed, but its fun to conjure up theories on an effective way to make it through nightmare with my vanguard warrior.

Then why even bother making it? Your post is less of a guide and more of a theorycrafting session then anything else. It should be called what it is: "Numbers that I put together but actually have no clue how they come together in the actual game because I've never played it before."

Misleading title is indeed misleading.

Ive played Mass Effect 2 and Dragons Age enough to know that this guide is off to a good start in general theory.

but you are right, the title should be attached with the word theory or something similar.
