My first/main 360 Hawke is going to be fairly aggressive and a jerk. My first PC Hawke is going to be very sarcastic but nice overall.
So Is Everyone Going To Be Saracastic Hawke?

One line is too little to judge by. I'll just play it by ear and take it by context. If I'm consistently not laughing, then I'll probably stay a bit more stoic most of the time.

My first Hawke will be a classic somewhat Karkat-inspired (though only retroactively as I thought up the character before knowing who Karkat was) Jerk With a Heart of Gold. His responses will likely mostly be terse/jerky/abrasive but his actions will show him as a true saint, though he'll always insist in a Tsundere-like fashion "I'm not doing this for your sake! I was just passing through/I hate these guys anyway/etc."

The devs have said that the purple "sarcastic" responses aren't necessarily supposed to be sarcastic per se, but rather humorous/charming. Choosing the purple response doesn't mean Hawke will utter something ironic, necessarily.
I think they do what they are supposed to, from what I've seen.

See, in my opinion the "diplomatic" responses seemed a little too stoic and detached--very much the typical "super polite" responses that good characters in games were supposed to pick for years.

I like condescending sarcasm, but there's a time and place for that. I would say all the sarcastic options I've heard from gameplay videos just come across as trying too hard.

depends on the context, i wouldn't be trying to throw quips while we're trying to escape - like in the demo. i'd rather be mean in that context, then sarcastic/nice afterwards

Why is "diplomatic" moralized as being "good?" It really doesn't have anything to do with morality.

Sarcasm implies superior wit. Being nice or rude doesn't. That's why I think most people will prefer the sarcastic options.

For me I'll play like my very first play through on DA:O, say/do stuff I would actually do in the real world. Makes it more immersive

I'll probably be nice with a little sarcasm here and there. I rarely play aggressive characters.

My first playthrough will be mostly nice with a dash of sarcasm. I guess my choice is not uncommon.

Also I am wavering between diplomatic and sarcastic.

No
I Am always a selfish dick, who does what needs to be done for the greater good unless it involves hurting me or someone i like.
I already plan to kill anders, Isabella, Bethany, Carver, Sebastian, and just maybe Fenris depending on whether he is pro mage(dies) or pro templar(might die).

For what I have planned for my first Hawke, yes, I'll be choosing sarcastic/charming/funny a lot. However, I won't choose it all the time; some situations will call for aggressive or diplomatic instead. I saw a few points in the demo video that I'd consider very OOC for my Hawke to use the funny option.

I hope they give us the choice to play as a socially inept, Napoleon Dynamite-esque Hawke.

Indeed, my first playthrough I always play as myself. After that, I try the extremes.
The "bad" extreme is usually a very poor game. To this day, despite many marketing terms revolving around the word "choice", I've yet to play a game that was truly built to support both the "good" and "bad" sides of the coin. It's always "good" with some fluff thrown in there for the "bad" options that still have you mostly saving the world.

I'm going with a flirty/diplomatic Hawke. (Of course he's flirty, his name is Mike.)
