According to one reviewer, who may very well have made a mistake.

We'll see. I kinda doubt it though, since BioWare has been harping main game=ten years since the beginning, and hasn't changed.

you gotta remember no one knows how much time has passed when cassandra interrogates varrick for all we know 3 years after the ending may have passed

You would know because you played the game... Unlike the reviewer.

And just because you can heavily invest in a tree doesn't mean progression isn't mostly linear.

I said "it seems". I ALWAYS, about everything I said about the game, said that its only my impression. Hell, it can turn out that I don't like this game at all. This is  why I never said that DA2 will be a great game, or that is superior of DAO, but I said that DA2 could be a great game, and it could be better than DAO.
And from what I saw it seems that I can heavily invest in a tree without choosing the same ability all the time.

And only because a review said that the the skill progression is restricted or limited that doesn't mean it's true. If I said that comunism is better than capitalism this is true? No, it's only my opinion.

Interesting, the only thing I would be very disappointed with if true, would be PC Games remark about the ending being unsatifying... was not impressed with DA:O endings. Endings are one of the most important things to me... I'll wait and see for myself.

Unsatisfying Ending? I wonder if this means an incomplete ending like in Awakening where you kill the last boss then the game goes straight to the epilogue. And in the epilogue talks about your character disappearing. Or if it is unsatisfying because there is no true "happy" ending? If the ending is like DAO then it's okay, but I don't want to get invested in a game if the ending is like Awakening.

I thought as much but im starting to think it unsatifying clifhangerPosted Image

Possible, but BioWare (who I trust far more than some journalist) hasn't changed their claims that the game takes place over ten years.

Where I'm thinking this guy got confused is in the number of time skips. I don't think that we're going to see the game jump forward once a year, but may include a number of years in each skip. Thus, we may only jump ahead seven times, but those seven jumps include the ten years in them.

so we are ignoring the pc gamer uk review that gave the game a 94 and different pro's and con's or is it normal bioware forum fashion to say that the low score of a freaking 88 = the game sux

Oh, didn't you hear? The PC Gamer UK review was "payed for by EA/Bioware". Posted Image
Of course they're gonna ignore it. It's the BW forums, after all. Anyone who's being positive about an unreleased BW game is either a blindly loyal fanboy or on EA's payroll.

Exactly. Consider my preorder canceled. No 10 years of epicness, no buy!

I only really read reviews from people whose opinions and personality's are known to me, like the guys at giantbomb for example.

Even then reviews are always going to be a subjective thing with everyone having there own opinions. So don't worry if a review didn't like the game as much as you wanted. Its your opinion that really matters to you :)

Cons seem a bit... off, like their just down to taste, apart from the copy and paste that sounds like a legit con. Great scores though :)

Cazlee, I think it'll be unsatisfying in the sense that the game perhaps ends without tying up the interrogation part of the story. Rather, it's just Hawke's story that is concluded in terms of showing how he became the champion and why he made the choices he did that lead to the world being on the brink of war.

And that's fine with me, as it's always been billed as Hawke's rise to power story. Granted, it would have been nice to catch up to the present time and move beyond the 'story within a story' thing. It's no biggie though, for me anyway.

(And this is an assumption from reading between the lines. Dumb brit here, so can only read english and not german. ;) )

Apparently one reviewer says it's 7. Take that however you will.

I might be an oddball in this regard, but I really, really enjoy cliffhangers.  And because of that, I loved the way Origins and Awakening ended.  I like the idea of everything not being answered.  It helps keep the universe "personal" to each player in that regard since it keeps possibilities open.  I could entertain myself for a long time with what-if scenarios.

However, that doesn't mean that I don't want some questions answered eventually.  Especially some things that were presented as really important.  For example, if we never find out what Morrigan gave us in Witch Hunt, then that would be annoying.  But if we never find out why our warden disappeared, I would be okay with that.

As for the 7 years thing instead of 10, I don't mind it.  I kind of like the idea of filling in the rest of the ten years with expansions or DLC.  Why?  Because then they can try new and different thing in the expansion and DLC based off of feedback from the base game.

What bugs me is that it seems we were misled to believe the base game was 10 years.  I don't like being misled or lied to.  <_<  Especially since I wouldn't have minded the base game being 7 years and the other 3 years being DLC.

Verification of the start of the 12 Endings rumor.

http://www.dragonage...go=dlfile&id=65

6:15 on the Mike Darrah interview.

Now, this is from 2010, so there is nothing to say that things have not changed. December, but still 2010.

It doesnt really bother me but it's weird when they kept shouting "10 Years epic story"!

Blurb from the official DAII site:

Embark upon an all-new adventure that takes place across an entire decade and shapes itself around every decision you make.

One review says he didn't feel like it was epic, and it's the Bible? Don't make me pull out those bad review scores from DAO and ME1, mister.

Anyhow, he said it was less epic than DAO. And I didn't think DAO was epic at all.

See, that's what bugs me. We got people who are going by the reviewer's word, when BioWare hasn't changed it's tune.

So, who do we trust? The guys who wrote the story, and progammed the game, or a bunch of journalists, who may or may not be able to count straight?

Usually, when there is a difference between the game makers and the game reviewers (Fable and WAR being obvious exceptions), it's the reviewers mistake, not the companys.

I know I just pretty much agreed with you a post above, but the designers of the game aren't going say it's bad or not epic.

I wouldn't trust anyone's opinion on the quality of the game but yourself. After that, the reviewers you agree with it.

Perhaps I should have said "your Bible" but that felt aggressive. I'm saying, one reviewer says it's not as epic as DAO and you take their word for the absolute truth?

Anyhow, I'd really like to see these reviews in English.

Are people seriously upset that the game might last 7 years instead of 10?!?!?

Even if that was proven true, what difference does it make??? What, you would suddenly be happier if a timeskip said 3 years went by instead of 1??? and you haven't even played the game yet...

Considering that Gamestar wrote that Fenris was a mage in one of their previews, I'm taking everything they write with a grain of salt...
