Understandably. Being a German, I don't trust us either. But then, I'm just paranoid.

Shin,

No-one's actually stated Dragon Age is intended to be a trilogy though. Instead, we have no idea how many games there'll be.

And yeah, the story of the games is more about the world. So, I reckon we will pick up where this game leaves off, even if we don't control Hawke.

I hear ya, but concerning my point that's just patato patata. That there would be more than two Dragon Age games was alluded to a couple of times - and the presence of a cliffhanger at the end of a game is pretty much a guarantee that there will be a sequel unless sales flop.

Agreed.

What is soo horribly wrong with a cliffhanger ending? I love them in books, and it isn't like there haven't been RPGs before ending in cliffhangers. Just wait for sequel or if none is coming use your imagination.

It's not wrong if it's ever get it's closure. It's wrong if it's stay as cliffhanger forever. Bad bad bad storytelling.

Okay, according to someone who's got the magazine, with 1:1 copy-pasting they refer to quest areas for sidequests, which Bioware seem to reuse, that is, they take one area, slap a different name on it and sell it as another area. They gave an example (i'm translating here, dunno if the names in english are correct): there is an area called Wilmod's Camp and another one called Fortified Caves, both identical.

if its the truth its very very anooying !!!! and i am woriied about this!!

so i take it you were pissed off at the warden's "disappearance" in origins or the OGB plot being left open.

i'd say the same will happen in DA2. we'll conclude the storyline of hawke's rise to power but the "war" is something left for later.

Which give me the reason for toolset to fix it myself than waiting for 100 years for Bioware to do so since they're so busy creating new contents, new area, new companions everything new + with some exceptional old companions for the sake of continuity.

Am I the only one that felt like DAO wasn't really epic?

Not the only one. DAO, to me, was great, but didn't fall into the epic category at -all.- It was a little too generic in many ways for me to feel it was truly epic in anyway.

I agree--I honestly think a more personal story is likely to be more "epic."

 DAO wasn't that epic.

The way I feel about DAO is that they made it like the "intro chapter" to the (then brand new) Dragon Age universe. They used quite a few techniques that are recent in gaming to achieve this, e.g. really different origins (with different starting areas).

In short, it's possible they wanted to introduce players to a totally new fantasy setting, instead of telling an epic story.

DAO was very good at doing *that*. This time, they wanted to tell a personal story, tho I won't be able to tell if it's gona be epic or not, from what I've seen, I can't justify spending time or money on DA2,

Yes because this if the first time EVER that Bioware has given a cliffhanger ending *sigh*

*thinks* Hm.....
*thinks harder* Maybe? No.

Okay, perharps cliffhanger ending definitions differ from person to person, but Sequel Hook ending would be a better term (like Baldur's Gate 1, Mass Effect endings, since it's a planned trillogy).

The only cliffhanger I can think of is the ending of Witch Hunt, what was supposed to foreshadow Dragon Age 2 anyways, so doesn't really count.

nightcobra8928, you are absolutely right.

This was the worst Cliffhanger i have ever seen.

I don´t need such thinks. OK, if i can be sure the game will be continued...

But since Shenmue 2 i have no more trust in things like this.

There's a bajillon Denerim backalleys that look exactly the same for one thing, a fair few random encounters re-use the same generic areas (hey I've seen that forest before, except we were starting at the other end of it, oh it's that Tevinter road in-ruins again), the area where you fight K/D in Denerim is the beginning of the blood mage hideout, probably others.
For the most part, board quests and random encounters.

Just to clear something up:

The German version of Dragon Age: Origins was completely uncut. Complete with blood, decapitations and the walking bomb splatter.

Also, the German version of Dragon Age II has been confirmed to be uncut, as well.

They both got their 18+ rating and that's it. Violence in games with fantasy settings is generally not as problematic as with realistic settings. Also, it's the game companies who cut to get lower ratings (or any rating), it's not that it's censored by the rating agency.

There's no need to worry about German reviews by the way. They rated Two worlds II obscenely high for what the game is.
