I think its a great idea, we need more string instruments in ME3.
Clint Mansell is our new composer for ME3.

Mass Effect's OST is not about string instruments or giant orchestral soundscapes. It's about synths and that electronica vibe, that's what appeals to me most and while Clint is a good composer, I don't know if he'll be able to pull that off as well as Jack Wall and co.
If you want strings and orchestras, just watch the majority of movie block busters. The thing I appreciated about the originals soundtrack (and some of 2) is that it was different and it worked. I'm not that optimistic.

To me it seems they're going for the blockbuster feel. One epic closure to a grand game series slapped with a $60 price tag (which btw I'm not gonna pay in a million years).
