Ok. So I downloaded ME from EA store about 3 weeks ago as well as Pinancle Station. Both installed and run fine. I was under the assumption BDTS was already part of the game. After wondering why I never got the option to use it I went to double check it on an FAQ and noticed that it wasn't already in the game. PC users just got a free download. So I went to the site and followed instructions. Except it won't accept my ME Key.
So now I'm wondering if there's a chance that since I've had the key unused for a few weeks, someone else might have guessed it correctly and used it instead. I'm having the exact same problem trying to register my ME2 for PS3 on this forum. (Didn't know to do it until several weeks had passed, and trying then caused the code to be considered invalid)
However for ME1 I also never needed to enter either of the keys for ME1 or PS. They just started working when I installed them. So maybe I made a mistake there?
Can anybody guess what the problem is? Or is it really that since I didn't know to register this stuff immediately, some hacker already used it?
Having trouble registering BDTS.

I dont know for sure about the EA download version, but assuming it works the same as the physical disk edition, you should have been prompted to enter a product code during installation.
Fire up the game, select configure, and on the left hand menu, under Mass Effect, select "Game". It should have a field showing you what your product key is (dont give this out to anyone). If the field is blank, then something has gone wrong with your installation.
Check out Zesban's thread on BDtS related issues.

This is how I got BDtS installed... I suggest that you use the EA account email that you used for the EA Store purchase of ME1. The following site below had an option to search for existing accounts, so you don't have to create a new account. The site might also have your key for ME1 after it finds you existing account, if you registered the game.
I went to Bioware’s ME1 site: http://accounts.bioware.com/index.html
and used my existing EA account email to register my ME1.
Then went here: http://accounts.biow...mepc_cdkey.html
and got a BDtS Authorization code. If you already have an account, it should bring up your existing ME1 (and BDtS codes).
Lastly I made sure to be automatically logged into the site by choosing “Remember Me” when logging in. (Not sure if this made a difference or not).
At first the install failed because I was unplugged from the internet but, when I tried a second time, the DLC was authorized and installed correctly. It showed up in the Game’s Menu as being installed, and showed up immediately in a current play-through. It works! And yes, I tested it, to the Asteroid I went, I saw, I conquered, and I collected...
My version of ME1 was a D2D download, so was the version of BDtS. Hope that helps...

Oh wow. I feel stupid. So after checking the installers code, it turns out I just can't read my own writing and thought a Q was a O. It worked after that. Thanks guys.
Don't know why I can't register my ME2 though....
