Question - what does Flemeth need her daughters for?

According to Morrigan, Flemeth uses them as replacement bodies when her current body grows too old.

Whether or not Morrigan can be trusted on the matter is, of course, a matter of speculation.

Aye, I didn't trust Morrigan with that little tidbit of information at all... and Flemeth seemed none too worried about her budding loyalties to the Warden. If she was going to die if that vessel were to escape, I would expect her to have a different persona. Granted, she may have actually been a little more pensive during the actual encounter, but Varric didn't know and told a more fanciful version of the Witch of the Wilds...

All 7 Old Gods are male.

Where? Where does it actually state that as factual? And how would that actually stop someone from harboring the soul of an old god? I doubt gender accounts much for possession. It certainly doesn't for desire demons.

Here's a theory to knock off socks.

What if Flemeth is actually Morrigan's child? The babe with the soul of an old god? Its possible Flemeth was originally raising a string of orphaned women as her own daughter specifically because she was awaiting Morrigan's return. Their looks are uncannily alike.

I often wondered how Flemeth knew Morrigan would turn against her, too. When you return to her hut, the old witch is donning on full armor. She was expecting the warden.

So what you're saying is Morrigan somehow pulled a Phillip J Fry?

Time travel isn't a theme that's touched on anywhere else in the Dragon Age universe... I doubt there'll be an "I'm my own grandma" scenario.

I think Morrigan was lying that time as well. Notice that she never shows you the book, nor do you get the chance to read it yourself. She just tells you. And given how well she lies, it's possible that she simply was trying to get rid of Flemeth.

Hmm... I was going to post to add a little something about what we've learned in a post-DA2 age, but that's unfortunately not much. She still transforms. She's still cryptic. And she still didn't play a large a part in the story as she should have.
