Everyone looks like a moron when taken a picture of in the middle of an expression or conversation.

Logic isn't going to work on people who still cling to the ridiculous 'herp derp' school of thought.

BioWare has created the first game where, upon seeing an image of the PC, the PC's mother, and the PC's sister, I thought, "I'd tap that."

At once or separately?

I can't believe people still judge Carver based on an early 6 month old screenshot.

It is forever engraved into my mind. Along with Tenso Carver

Amells are defnitely beautiful women. I feel like I have to make a gorgeous Amell Warden just to live up to her relatives' appearance.

Hey, not our fault Carver puts the Herp in Herp Derp.

Hating on poor Carver, when we know next to nothing about him.
I expected better from The Prince!

Pfft, I'm hating on Default Carver's looks which I know everything about.

Custom Carver is a mystery and his personality is as well.

It makes sense in a way. Once they've created characters so attractive no-one would ever want to play as anyone else, they can stop adding appearance customisers into their games. By the time the game ships only about a dozen people worldwide won't want to play as one of the hawkes, and blind-deaf gamers are a very small fraction of the market.

It's a price I'm willing to pay.

Just thought I would throw this in I remember David saying something about some things will carry over when you change the defaults, like skin tone if I'm not mistaken.

Skin tone, certain facial presets and such, etc etc.

Hair color stays the same as always. Dark brown.

Eye color, I don't remember. Probably the same as always.

That means it is still possible to make children of the corn.

I gotta say, I actually dig that armor more than some of the more 'epic' sets from later scenes. Guess I'm a sucker for armor that looks functional :P

I agree. Outside of the exaggerated bits, Hawke's armor looks remarkably (dare I say it?) realistic.

Notice the lack of armor boobs as well.

How is a lack of armour boobs realistic? If a woman is even slightly well-endowed, then flat armour like that would be very uncomfortable. Why is it that people feel the need to downplay any female attractiveness in a game, to the point where no boobs in armour is now good? I'm not saying they should be hanging out, but there's nothing wrong with the armour matching the general shape of a female's body, like it does with the males.

Do you think all their hair and eye colors will change if I make Hawke's hair red and her eyes green? Maybe not, lol. Their skin does color with Hawke's though. Is it too much to ask that they all have auburn hair and green eyes or pink hair and blue eyes? I love Pineappletree mods.

I actually agree with you on this one.  I'd not want my breasts smashed down into place like that all the time.  That would be pretty painful.

The mother looks really youthful. Did they have plastic surgery back in Thedas? Or did she have her kids when she was like 13?

Nah. She looks like a woman, who is wearing armor.

^_^

No. She looks like a woman who is wearing man's armour. Heaven forbid that a woman in a game wear anything feminine right? And no, that doesn't mean chainmail bikinis, as evidenced by some childish reponses previously. Feminine armour that fits a woman's body shape would be good, not a boob-less, hip-less example like in the photo.

I actually really like the armor she's wearing. I don't see the problem.

I mean, I'm fine with it as is or if it was modified to look more feminine.

I still take her seriously, which is what I want.

Yeah, this has been a real problem with the video game industry. They're always putting too much clothing on women!!!

:innocent:

Sorry, I know what you meant. I just found it funny when applied to gaming in general.

I actually don't have a problem with feminine armor -- I really liked some of the sets from DAO that had armor-boobs.

I just don't think there is anything wrong with the way Hawke's armor looks in the screenshot that is being referenced.

Yes, because as we all know, "feminine" is a clear-cut definition which has remained unchanged since time immemorial.
Boobs and hips is all there is.

Right?
