When looking at the difference between this engine and the others both in the last couple years and what is soon to come out.. yes, or they risk being considered a sub-par developer..

CD Projekt's budget for TW2 is, from what they said, 7 million USD.. I imagine that DA2's was much, much higher. If they can't create a game that looks even half as good as the newer games coming out, then where is all that money going?  Promotion and marketing aren't any better than CD Projekt's.. I have yet to see a television ad.  Is it sound direction, i.e VA's? I have no clue.. regardless, they are gonna need to create something a bit prettier next time or they're gonna risk being passed over.

Also, to whoever mentioned that TW2 is PC only, that's just atm. They said they're heavily considering porting it to consoles since the RED engine is scalable and compatible with current gen consoles..

i hope not i like these type of graphics once you go for the photo realistic look you lose some soul i doubt there would be a cc if the game had crisys type of graphics

APB wants to talk to you.. And it was using UE3, the same engine as Mass Effect..

(granted the game was **** and failed in a few months, but graphics don't mean you can't have a fabulous CC)

I'm not a huge graphics ****, and I wish more people cared less about them.. but really, it's half of the medium of gaming.

To say it's an unimportant feature is disengenuous. Why not go play PnP tabletop rpgs as then you can create your own story with all your friends and really get into the game..  because videogames are both easily accesible and offer entertainment on many levels; sound, story, interactivity and visuals..

Nobody liked Avatar for the story but look how that turned out.. (BTW I hated the film)

Indeed, and if true which I have no problem believing it, then it puts most devs to shame..

Imagine if CD Projekt had the budget of Rockstar or Infinity Ward, in the range of 90 - 100 million bucks..

I agree with everything except the bolded.

Neither game is out so there's no telling which will be better..

I mean.. really? The texture/modeling work for this game seems very spotty imo.. Even for someone like me who just got done playing Arcanum, that's pushing the boundaries of passable graphics in today's age.

I have no clue how good the story and all that in TW is. I doubt I will ever know. I just know the combat kept me from playing much of it :/. Unless the combat is improved I can care less about how good it looks.

Nah, I just have more confidence in it as what I've seen so far and judging from their past release, it even furthurs that confidence.

I can't say the same for DA2 as I was dissapointed for the majority of the development updates released (if not all).
