I've been trying to get companions and PCs to stop "automatically" trying to pick a lock when you click on a locked door or object. It is especially annoying when you want a convo to trigger upon trying a locked door. I found an anomaly in my mod one day: a chest was closed, but the "open state" said "open." In the game, it does exactly what I want. I can't seem to get this to happen with other chests and doors, but I would sure like to. Ideas?

You can set the locked object to require a key to prevent it from being unlocked. Otherwise it is in the player's control whether they want their party members to try to unlock things that are locked. In your conversation you could use the standard ga_lock script to force the object to be unlocked even though it normally would require a key.

That's a really good idea- I wanted convos to control the lock-picking process anyways, and I can set up scripts and variables that are dependent on the speaker's lock-picking skill. Thanks!
