How do I play custom music in a cutscene, or have any audio in a cutscene that was made by me?
The wiki for FMOD "Adding music to a cutscene" is totally useless

Also I can't seem to get the generated VO to play in a conversation. The text shows, the options that a player chooses show, but the audio doesn't play

Well i've posted this question on the other forum too an no awnser for over a week.
So it looks like nobody knows an bioware just simply refuses to awnser this.
Also it's becomming more and more obvious to me the toolset is pretty much useless unless you build an entire module yourself.
There's no simple way to add for instance a dungeon to the single player campaign.
Most the ingame stuff doesn't seem to be present in the toolset.
Looks like they want to protect ever game asset so much it made the toolset useless.

While you do pretty much need to build an entire module (alas all I want to do is make a short 4 minute cutscene to record to avi), majority of everything in-game is available in the toolset with an exception to some of the scripting.. from what I've found.
I'll be encountering this problem soon enough (still working on designing and seting up the level/area - and figuring out how to add some of the VFX I require) so I'm hoping someone will have an answer eventually.

Good. The faster they seperate this forum into "SP Additions" and "Original Modules" the better. Also it's becomming more and more obvious to me the toolset is pretty much useless unless you build an entire module yourself.

- I believe that the plan is to make the game resources available, not sure when.
- I think the BioWare team is churning away trying to fix the big problems and thus we might have to wait a bit for them to help out with topics such as these.
- Normally there would be a fair number of community members to help out with questions such as these but they are still playing the game or waiting on the toolset fixes.
I'm not saying any of this is right or wrong just that is how I perceive things. I have in the beta successfully created a custom music event and had it play in an area in the toolset but I never did try and add that custom music to the a cutscene.
I think the flow of information and help will open up quite a bit over time, hopefully the short term.

After giving it another try i finally found out how to get music in cutscenes.
I simply started a new FMOD project and deleted the event made for you by FMOD.
Next i went over to the Sound deffinitions part and added a folder MyMusic.
Then you click on that folder and add an empty sound deffinition.
Then you select the deffiniton you made and select add wavetable and select the mp3 you need(I used the ones in the Bonus folder).
Next you head over to the events tab and add a new event.
Then double click the event then right-click and select add sound.
When you did this for every piece of music you need you then build the project and copy the files to you mydocuments/bioware/dragonage/packages/core/overrides folder and they will show up in the editor to be used.
If you have any further questions please post them here and i will try to keep track of it and awnser the best i can.

Mate, I love you. I was fiddling with fmod for a whole day and then one thing you said made it work. Thank you!

Take a look at the wiki. I actually modified a section that explains how to do it.
There is a parameter you should include to make sure the games actual music doesn't play while your music is playing
