Don't know if the OP is still updating it, but on first look you are missing a rogue's Brittle exploit. The rogue ability assassinate with annihilate exploits brittle at 400% (in the assassin specialty).
Still, awesome list and very useful. Mainly been using fog -> scatter/bomb, but the list makes me think that a good elementalist + varric/2her combo might be as good if not better. Can a 2her tank decently in nightmare?
I took out the High Dragon on Nightmare with Fenris and Hawke as 2h warriors kind of "trading off" the tanking. Took a ****ing long time, but we got it done.
As far as my favorite combo, it's gotta be the enormous number of staggers you can cause with 2h warriors paired with chain lightning and crushing prison from mages. Against really big guys like the High Dragon, you can still land staggers with Devour from the Reaver tree. Against anything less than that, Sunder and Claymore will passively stagger everything virtually all the time, which is why I love this party setup:
Anders - Creation/Primal/Personal Tree
Merrill - Primal/Personal Tree
Hawke - 2h
Fenris - 2h
Everything is staggered all the time and chain lightning does like 2500 damage EACH to up to 4 staggered targets.
Totally dude! I've been rocking virtually the same setup and it is definitely very fun. Stagger + Chain Lightning / Crushing Prison is pretty easy to abuse and does tons of damage. Honestly though, I don't think there necessarily needs to be two guys with 2H + Vanguard, as I've noticed that Hawke with Claymore, Sunder, and Devour is often enough. I'm considering using Aveline instead and just going Weapon and Shield + Warmonger + Battlemaster (she's often stamina drained), this way you won't have to keep swap-tanking with your two guys and you still have access to abilities like Pommel Strike and Tremor for more staggering if necessary. The setup also allows you to have a bunch of group buffs: Elemental Weapons, Arcane Shield, Heroic Aura, and possibly Battle Synergy.
I've also thought of making things a bit more challenging (and rewarding) for myself by digging deeper into Anders' Vengeance branch while still having access to Panacea in a pinch; it'd intensify micro-management, but people have been saying that he gains a significant DPS increase while in that mode. Any thoughts or results on this? And I haven't tried this on Nightmare yet, but was the warrior AOE ever an FF problem?
